Lawdwaz
My friend had a stuffed bull elk in the Buffalo Gun Center for probably 20 years prior to their closing. He shot it September of 1970 in Alberta Canada and after 50 years being mounted times have changed. The ears looked pretty ratty and the hide was faded pretty good. So, I was tasked with retrieving the mount from the shuttered BGC this past week and removing the skull cap and antlers from the form. I’ll take him the bone next time I head out to see him. grampy
I just recently did the same thing on an old bow kill whitetail before we moved. The mount was pretty shabby, so I just saved the antlers. That is a very nice elk!!! Bet there is a great story of the hunt.
