New scope

Late Fathers Day/early birthday present.  After looking at a few scopes, settled on a 3-9x50 with illuminated reticle.  I liked the Hoghunter, but it seemed oversized for my needs (targets out to 200 yards and the occasional dumb coyote).
 

It came with a bubble level… anyone use one of these?  I understand the theory behind it, but I don’t know if I’m good enough or shoot far enough to warrant keeping it on.
