Gobbler Chaser
From a logistics viewpoint I can't imagine how these things worked. To displace the amount of water for a box big enough for two hunters you'd need a huge amount of iron to anchor it, and you'd need at least 4 of them. You'd need one on each bottom corner of the box and they'd have to have those anchor lines scoped out at angles in hope of getting any type of stability. If one hunter moved or was much heavier than his buddy the shift in weight could cause it to take on water and with that amount of displacement it would sink in seconds possibly going keel up and trapping a hunter in the process. It doesn't look like something you could set up at 3am in darkness to be ready for morning light. Then, how the fugg do you get into the thing. You'd need someone to bring you by boat and hope you didn't swamp it getting in or from the wake of the boat as it left. Doesn't look like something you could leave out or set up the day before. You might come out in the morning darkness to find it's not even on the surface anymore. Not sure about this one.
