How long do you guys wait to start training your dogs to be in the field???

As.  a pup after all shots are done I let them run alone in the field 2 to 3 times a week. If they can encounter birds all the better but I dont put out birds they can catch. The worst thing is to have a pointing breed catch birds. I let them run till about 10 to 12 months and than start breaking them.

Depends on the type of dog. If its a pointer wing training starts at a very young age (depending on the interest of the dog). I've had GSP pups start at 8 weeks others at 16-18 weeks old.
