MuzzyLoader
Anyone on here know how to change out an engine? If so, you may be interested in this: Supposedly there is anti-freeze in two cylinders (so the guy at the garage says). WNYBuckHunter
Yep, sounds like blown head gaskets. Unfortunately, it may have cooked the main bearings. Would be a great truck for an engine swap! Good luck!
MuzzyLoader
All I know is that I was driving around this winter without a heater (it would only blow cold air). I took it into the shop (for a new thermostat) and they said it was a plugged heater core - told me it needed a new radiator and 'power flushed'. A month later... a new engine - WTF? I'm not a mechanic and I don't have $3200 to spend on purchasing and installing a USED engine (that's what they quoted me). Ouch! This truck is pretty much imaculate - no rips, tears, frame rust, etc. Has one small rust spot where the driver's door hit a wire fence (but I put some paint over it). The NADA book says it would be worth the following: $5665 Kelley Blue Book (Good Condition) – Dealer Sale $5540 Kelley Blue Book (Good Condition) – Private Sale $3775 Kelley Blue Book (Good Condition) – Trade-In
