Take the roast and marinade in = parts apple cider vinegar & water 1 chopped onion put in a small container of pickling spices and marinade for 3 days in fridge turn at least once a day. when it is done

1. take it out and brown on all sides (use bit of olive oil )

2. put marinade back over and simmer 2-3 hours on low-med

3. pull out meat and let it cool

4. take a large box of ginger snap cookies and crush in food processor

5. put them into the brine and let it boil, once it starts to thicken pour through a screen strainer ( use for gravy)

Also if you want to do potato dumplings....

peel and boil 5lb potato (adjust for serving or family size)

let cool over night

mash w/ 6 eggs

2 cups flour

1 chopped onion

parsley, salt & pepper

make small potato balls and drop in bioling salt water until they float

Most traditional recipes calls for marinating a roast for days. This recipe uses stew meat is quick and easy and we love it.

3 lbs. stew meat

2-3 medium onions diced

1 1/2 cups catsup

1 1/2 cups cider vinegar

2/3 cup of sugar

2 cups water

2 tsp. Allspice

2 tsp. Ground Cloves

Crushed Ginger Snaps 10-15

Brown meat and onions. Mix other ingredients (except Ginger snaps) and add to meat.

Simmer for about 2 hours. Add crushed Ginger Snaps to thicken to desired thickness.

Serve over noodles.

Since it's just my wife and I now, I usually cut this recipe in half when I make it.

Taste even better warmed up the next day.

I had a roast set out and thawing in the fridge so I could try one of your recipes this weekend. Unfortunatly when I got home Saturday afternoon the wife had it half cooked in the crock pot with veggies and spuds.I'll have to wait and try it again. Thanks they both sound great.
