Corn Planting???

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if someone could give me a few tips on planting corn. Im going to be planting next weekend and I have RR corn that I got from NWTF. I also have one of those manual seeders. I was curious about spacing of rows, when to fertilize and what type, and when I should spray round up?

Thanks

I plant 28in rows i do not recomend less than 24". seed are 4in apart 1 1/2 in deep. I plant with 12-12-12. When plants have 4 leaves spray with round up or like product "gly" pronto is same stuff at only 1/2 cost. I add urea 45-0-0 at 200lbs per acre with a broadcaster after round up has taken effect usually about a week, if plants look purplish it needs more potasium n- p -k. you can spray again if weeds are out of control until about waist high. Important to mix you spray according to directions for corn(should be on label. they come in all different concentrates and need to be mix properly for right percentage..
