GrouseHunter
Great news, lets hope the weather is ok for them. I heard because of the mild weather this year it may be possible for a double clutch. What area are you in?
landtracdeerhunter
Great to see more grouse around. Yep, the males were drumming Sunday here too. Got some one audio while taping hen turkeys yelling their heads off.
16. ga hunter
grouse hunter in 8p yes the mild spring may be good for them but the lack of snow seems to hinder them more than anything that i have noticed
GrouseHunter
I was up by Syracuse last weekend riding a horse in the woods and was very pleased to see quite a few grouse. I was on a trail the whole time just me and the horse no dogs and saw enough that I was a little worried about the horse getting scared. About 5 togther flushed in front of us at one point and he got a little upset. Spoke to some people from the area and they said they had 105 inches of snow last winter and not much rain so far this year. I am not sure how that transfers to the grouse but hoping they did well all over. Seeing wild birds always makes me feel good. Anyone else seeing birds? mm
Single_shot
For 3 years now,I have had the 1 lonesome drummer by the cabin. He drums all the time,no matter the season. He did have 1 GF but I found her remains by the gate some time back. Not many around I guess. He is lucky to be alive, with the hawks and owls so abundant. It would be nice to have more around, but I don't see that happening.
