I bought a Hoyt Dorado takedown recurve a fews years back to play with but added a whisker biscuit, 1 pin sight, and string loop. I shoot it with a release and am reasonably accurate to 25 yards. The main reason for the purchase was to have a takedown bow as a backup when flying to a hunting destination. This recurve fits inside a small folding case which then goes into my compound bow travel case.

took 3 cams out of the woods as things are heating up on the creek early this year. I had the (lets see what bucks are still alive) cams working but wasn't getting any bucks so it was time to move them.Actually there have been ducks here (at least one pair of woodies and mallard) right through the winter. never seen that before. All together I now have 7 cams running in 6 different creek settings.

True that; today's fiber optics even in .010 size are still visible after I wouldn't even consider taking a shot.I used to use the sight light and yes it can be too bright and result in restricting your ability to see the target. What you can do is cover the hole with tape and make a small hole in the tape so that only a fraction of the light is coming out.

good question. I believe that a very sensitive cam can be triggered by any movement.

just this past year I was bowhunting in Illinois and a guy shot a buck that was not that big and then had an offer to hunt for another with a family members tag. Now if you go shoot a booner with that tag you then have to decide for yourself when you look up at that trophy on the wall if you are proud of what you did. While this case is different as it was deemed a legal kill, nevertheless, the "hunter" now can look up at his trophy and decide for himself if he is proud of this "accomplishment".

nice job putting that together. While I have seen many a bow mouted video of a shot from a compound bow and all have noticable camera jump at the moment of the shot, the amount of jump in your video is not bad at all; in fact better than most I have seen. Your bow must be getting up there in weight with the rangefinder and the phone though it is not the phone that weighs a lot; it is that Vendetta. They should be able to manufacture that product at less than half the size and weight but they would rather save on cost and throw a clunky item at us. It's a shame they won't do it as more hunters would likely use them. thanks for the show; the motorized decoy is a cool idea.

those Ir pics look to be in good focus. Even $600 Reconx have blurr when subjects are moving. the daytime shutter @ 1/750 sec is nice. are all daytime pics recorded at that speed? night time burst at 3 pics per 6 sec is also very good.

I find it amussing how the anti crossbower brings up saftey concerns as well as the reckless long distance shot. 1st) where is this alarming safety data from the states that have legalized crossbows and had them for years. . Post up or shut. 2nd) the concern for the long distance and irresponsible shooting. Funny, I see that every time I turn on a hunting channel and watch the compound shooters constantly miss deer and from all ranges; long and short. I also see it all the time on rifle hunts as well. Maybe these guys shouldn't be hunting or talking those shots either. It all boils down to assuming that anyone carrying a crossbow can't know what their doing and is a threat to everyone else. Question? do you ever see questionable shot choices coming from so called "experienced" hunters carrying other weapons, answer: yes, every time I turn on the TV.

Not sure about "one and done" states but I question your concern for the dissapearence of vertical archery. I presently own a crossbow but only bought it to play with, and as a possible backup to a compound in the future. While injury and old age are things that some vertical bowhunters are concerned with, many of us haven't yet thought much about these things or reached the point in their lives where they can see physical inability as part of their future.That being said if crossbows became legal in archery season here in NY, I would still be going afield with my Bowtech Invasion vertical bow while I'm stil able, and would only relegate myself to the crossbow if I were no longer able to pull my compound. I'm also sure there are many a NY bowhunter that shares my view on this and would choose the compoiund over the crossbow as long as they are able to. Supermen out there; please look to the future as one day this will be in your best interest as well. In the mean time you could also help support the ability of seniors to get back in the game while they still have some time left.
