    So I mistakenly got tags for 3R not realizing it was the wrong region I wanted. Does anyone know if there is anything in 3R to hunt? I checked the map and the only place I see is harrisman state park but there is no hunting there.

    I got my hunting license at the end of October, went out on 5 hunts before this one and today with the help of friends I got a button buck which I thought was a doe so I took it. Even though I hate the idea of taking such a young buck I can’t take it back so here he is. My fist deer ever. It was a hell of a hike and a grueling hike back. Until next season.

    I'm new to hunting so please forgive me for the question. If I go deer hunting but also want to try to hunt say Turkey or squirrels or anything else with a shotgun, am I allowed to bring both guns on the deer hunt or do I need to keep one in my car and then switch them out when needed?

    I saw this message late, I literally booked a airbnb cabin to hunt in the next few days. I’ll make the best of it I guess.

    Same boat as you. I live in NYC and have been driving up at 4am for the past 3 days to hunt at sterling forest and all I’ve seen is squirrels. Planning to just drive up to the adorandack mountains to try to luck for two days.

    Hey great tips! Im currently at sterling forest trying my luck, scouted the last two days and found a spot I liked unfortunately this morning a hunter was in the area so I ended up walking a trail and just sitting in a random spot. I’ll PM you for a hunt if possible. Thanks for the tips

    They sure are, I was just there a few days ago. No worries I know hunters don't generally like to give up their spots haha. I've been looking at public lands ill prob try it soon

    absolutely I have a passion for hunting in general so anything is good in my book. I've actually hunted for dove before in the Dominican Republic. unfortunately the NYPD wont give me a take home car haha

    I live in the Bronx, just picked up hunting. I put a post on deer hunting sub section and thought i'd swing in here and say hello. I don't have a hunting partner or anyone to mentor me, if you're interested in teaching me the ropes of hunting in New York shoot me a dm. I've only hunted for doves before in the Dominican Republic which is where I am from. Other than that I have zero experience with hunting.

    awesome man, I sighted in at 100 yards yesterday shooting some good groups I was happy with. Good luck on your next hunt!
