My old reliable Savage 210F slug gun with Simmons Aetec scope is about as dead nut accurate as you can get. It's fallen over a couple times in the house, I even slipped on a rock wall two years ago and landed virtually directly on the scope. In fact it bent the sunshade! Yet that Simmons scope never loses zero. I bought a brand new Remington Model 700 Sendero SFII in 300 Win Mag. about a month ago and don't even have rings or bases for it yet! LOL! Probably going to invest in a PRICEY scope for that one. -
Wow! Alot of great replies! The area gets a fair amount sunlight this time of year and a lot more when the leaves fall. I'm going to bring a leaf blower back there to remove the leaves from all the oak trees and then I'll rake up all the sticks. May be able to get the small Troybilt tiller back there too...

I only gun hunt and wanted to put in a small (1/4 acre) plot that would survive until mid to late November/early December. Is it too late and if not what would be best to plant in an area that receives limited sun? I had the soil tested and the soil has a great ph level. There are no farms within miles of my location.

That fawn sure does look wobbly. .. I wish I could get one on camera like that!

That bear came through twenty six hours after that doe was there with her newborn fawn. I doubt that's coincidence.

If I remember correctly it's a giant willow tree.

That's funny- I thought it was kinda on the small side. The ears look kinda close together on the skull...

Yeah me and my .45 went back after I saw the pics and lowered it about six inches.

No it's a couple of miles from the house. However we DID have one walk down the road and cross right behind the house a few weeks ago!

LOL! No, he's not trapping in June. At the base of that tree is a well worn path by a stream that he has trapped for years- probably about thirty to be exact. Over the past four or five years he's taken six bobcat from there including a double header last year. That's why we nicknamed it the bobcat set.

Here are a few pics of a bear I got on cam at my dad's bobcat set:

Feeding deer legal again
gunner1 replied to Dinsdale's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
What exactly is the law on this ? If you shoot a deer that is on a trail leading to a bait pile is that illegal or does it have to be at the bait pile itself? Everyone I see a violator written up it states the deer was illegally shot OVER bait... -

Here's a pic of one my dad caught last year:

It's funny but I was kinda thinking the same thing as I read some of these posts. As long as it's a LEGAL deer, taken by LEGAL means in a LEGAL area and reported properly, isn't who shoots it really just samantics? I think it's worse for people to bag deer and not report it than it is to fill someone else's tag.

It seems your neighbor need to hire a groundskeeper! That front yard is terrible!! LOL! That IS a nice buck though.

This doe is ALWAYS by herself. I recognize her by the size of her "chest bump" and the amount of black on it. Earlier in the spring my mom heard coyotes and the sound of something kinds screaming and I figure it was her fawn...

This is one of about three different groups of does/fawns that always travel through my area. One time I got EIGHT of them on camera at one time! I rode my ATV back to where this pic was taken and there were three of them bedded down within 100 feet of my stand! There's a few bears in the immediate area and I think that may have something to do with why I always get group shots like this.

Just don't turn round!!!

LOL! This is the first decent buck I've seen all season. Up until I got this pic it was just a forkhorn and a million does!
