I used to be in the stand before sun up , now not until sun up !

Heard a couple this AM !

Packed it in early .... gettin older gettin colder !

A Texan ,a Floridian ,and a New Yorker die. They all wind up in hell. After a while they spot a red phone and ask Satan what it's for. He tells them so they can call back to earth. The Texan calls Dallas, and talks for 5 minutes. Satan says 5 minutes call to Texas is $5000. The Floridian calls Miami, and talks for 10 minutes. Satan says 10 minutes cal to Miami is $10000. The New Yorker calls Albany ,and talks for 5 hours. Satan says 5 hour call to Albany is $5. The Texan and Floridian here this and ask why it's so cheap to call Albany. Satan smiles and says,,," Since Holcul took over, the whole state has gone to hell, so it's a local call.."

Back in the day I used the old screw in steps (private land) , now I'd be taking my life in my hands trying to do that (old geezer) so I'm sticking with the Ladder Stand . On my property there is a stream and on the other side of the stream (not my property) there was always the Pumpkin Suit Parade early morning , have not seen a Pumpkin Suit in over ten years . The Parade unknowingly kicked lots of Deer my way , now myself and Son and hunting buddy take turns driving them over !

Ever notice how if you use Insurance the repair cost goes up ? Just like the Dentist , they charge what they can get away with !

My son and I will take turns heading in for a coffee at the convenience store !

Well hanging up the Crossbow for now , cannot wait for Gun on Saturday !

Agree X2 ! Anyone that has a 401K would hopefully see the major changes in the last two years ! Everything costs more , and Social Security will be getting the biggest raise in close to 40 years and I'm sure the current Admin will take credit ! Unfortunately the current Admin is to blame for skyrocketing Inflation . Now that we Taxpayers have 4-5 million more Welfare recipients (from south of the border) we'll just be giving up most of what we've earned over the years to prop up the current Admin ! Am I wrong ?

I've always wanted to do this and this year I'm going to . I'm going to setup a Trail Camera (wally world Trail Cam) on a Gut Pile if either myself or my son score ! Whenever we score the next day it seems like someone came through with a Mop and cleaned up ! Hopefully the Camera will take some good Pic's and I'll post them here !

Supposedly the Opening day of gun season - southern zone - is the highest Deer take in the state ! Supposedly !

I use regular " On Sale " batteries from the Dollar Store , never fail and when they do I simply do not miss anything I've missed ( makes sense ?)

Going to be difficult getting any sleep Friday night ! In my woods my son has already seen a 10 pointer either a 6 or 8 pointer and I've seen a 4 pointer and a Spikey ! And we have 3 DMP's to fill , hope I don't have a heart attack watching my son drag .... LOL

Interesting you mentioned a Tree Falling , directly across from my ladder stand is a dead tree about 50 ft. tall and when the wind blows it rocks and I keep hoping I'm not in the stand when it finally keels over !

Yeah we burn oil for heat and hot water but we have a wood stove in the basement and if we keep the stove burning all day the oil burner never kicks in ! Now if I can convince the Wife into not taking a 30 minute shower we'd be all set !

Well I didn't head out today ( Veteran Stuff ) anyway the son did and the local Farmer (an un friendly type) had his two dogs loose again and nearly nipped my son . There is a leash law in town but the Dog(s) may by chance end up disappearing due to " natural causes " .... thoughts ?
