  1. Oct. 1st can't come soon enough!
  2. Believe this to be the same buck about 1 month a part cool to see the growth from July to August. Threw in another good buck new to the group.
  3. The cam checks are not as often as I post. I try to stay out of the woods as much as possible especially in September. I will get them in waves from the guys I hunt with some by phone others by email so I will share when I've been getting them and the last week or so my buddies have been sending these in. I've only been out twice to check my own cameras since they went up in June.
  4. The field has some clover in bunches scattered throughout. Huge cornfield just to the north and they have been pouring out of it in the evenings. In our general area there are a ton of food plots with a lot of corn this year. The location with good bedding areas, water, and food has played a major role in the increase in buck quality for sure. This hunting on the farm has been in the control of my buddy for about 6 years, I've been hunting it consistently for 4. We've done a pretty good job of letting young deer walk and much of the surrounding area hunters do the same. This year has prob been our best for quality and quantity of bucks on camera.
  5. just need them to stick around....
  6. I live in Rochester but Hunt Ontario and Wayne County. I have access to small parcels near my parents house in Newark which usually only hunt bow. The spot that these pictures are taken is a farm I hunt with 3 other friends not far from the Canandiagua Thruway Exit.
  7. My buddy went back to the same field and watched last night as the deer poured out of the corn...said he took about 100 pics, man I hope they stick around!!!
  8. Right on. I would love to take this deer on any other piece of land I hunt. If we had no knowledge of this deer prior to the season then I would bet one of the 4 hunters on the property would take a shot at him. He is an easily identifiable deer so if he does come in range there should not be an issue on letting him walk. We'll see if the plan pays off and he makes it thru or if we are kicking ourselves when one of the neighbors puts him down.
  9. Technically its not my cam but on the property we hunt so you could say its as good as my own. Sam, the 11pt, with the "prong" looking G2 was put on the "DO NO SHOOT LIST" we'll see if that holds true or backfires when a neighbor knocks him down.
  10. These will get anyone excited for the season!!
  11. Got another big 6 on cam and now trying to decide if this is the same deer from 2012. My hunting buddies think so.
  12. If you put in the time to manage your food plot, which in some cases takes weeks/months/years to perfect then IMO more power to you and best of luck reaping the rewards. If you decide to go to the store and buy a bag of corn, a mineral lick, or any of the other various deer attractants to put out in front of your stand in hopes of getting the deer close then you are lazy and this should remain illegal.
  13. They are def on the radar. Looking forward to monitoring their growth. Should be easy recognize with the distinct brow tines, hopefully they stick around long enough to get some late summer photos.
  14. Just for the sake of argument, John states "plenty of time still to grow" (I'm excited). Skully says "Their not going to grow that much more" (I'm bumming). From what I've read the antler growth season is from April-Sept. My biggest buck to date is around 115 inches and one of my goals is to harvest a Buck bigger then that. That being said, what type of potential do you think these deer have?
  15. Thanks everyone. The night photo buck looks like he's eating good! Happens every year that early on we get awesome shots of some slobs and as soon as Bow season starts we don't see them again...praying to change that pattern this year!
  16. How bad did you want to pummel this guy after he told you to F'off when you confronted him!? Stinks that your yard is torn up, and you had this D-bag telling you to F'off but in the overall scheme of things it sounds like you won't have an issue with the neighbor on your property again, hopefully. Better to take the high road in this case versus getting into a argument with the knucklehead neighbor, it will only continue to raise your blood pressure. Good luck moving forward.
  17. Neat pic, buck in background looks decent
  18. Found this one in some old emails...great point on the ear!
  19. Any reason to why yes or why no?
  20. Left is this year, right side pic is last year. What do you think, could it be the same deer?
  21. M buddy pulled my cards and sent these to me. Nothing outrageous but its a start.
  22. Agreed, was very much into T.B after watching the first season and its been downhill since. Judging by the first couple episodes this season it doesn't look like its getting any better. G.O.T has me hooked...The Red wedding episode was nuts!
  23. It was an awesome opening morning sit, although very short. As soon as I climbed into my stand I had deer in the 50 acre field I was overlooking. I had hardwoods behind me with a standing cornfield on the other side. The leaves in the woods were perfect to alert me of any movement with a nice frost from cold weather. After watching deer move around field right at first light I heard the "crunching" of leaves and this fella came out of the woods 50 yds to my right. Gave me a great opportunity to make a clean shot and I was able to make the most of it. He is not a giant but my second buck ever taken and first since 2007, rough score of 115. My biggest to date.
  24. That's what I counted.
