  1. When I hunted a similar field in Bridgehampton I used a ladder stand, it seemed to work out better than a climber, since the trees bordering the property were small .
  2. . LIWaterman check your inbox.
  3. It's been tough getting out, and it still seems that they are moving at night. I've got a few on camera.
  4. You might be better off dropping your gear off , then parking. I'm sure that the anti hunters will probably be screwing around with anyone parked there. Maybe leave a trail cam on video setting inside your car or across street. The treehuggers always called police in spots out east for no reason, just to screw up your hunt.
  5. The property I hunt borders public land. Even though its posted, we still get a lot of trespassing. I guess the schools out here suck, because people can't read. I bought a camera this year when Dick's had them on sale, I figured it would be a gamble. Got the camera, just a few doe and a small buck.
  6. Watched a small buck chase around 2 doe yesterday. And had a buck come right in using a grunt call. Didn't see anything on Wednesday.
  7. There was a lot of bucks taken last week. I'm not sure about the does. I did see several does today with 1 small buck chasing them, but that was in an area where there is no hunting allowed, so they don't have any pressure. I'm hoping to see something this weekend after I check the trail cam, if it's still there....
  8. I'm hoping to get out this week, maybe I'll check out some of the county spots??

  10. He looks like a local that hunts. Why would you wear street shoes into an area you plan on hunting? Is the camera spot where you blind was?
  11. Where about is the property. I've had a lot of people trespassing on the private property I hunt. Some stands stolen. He doesn't look like the guy I saw the other day.
  12. Has anyone seen anything lately? I know that a lot of bucks were taken recently from checking out some pictures on other sites. I've also seen a few bucks and does on the roads hit, but haven't gotten much in the woods. I've also heard of some nice racks being taken out of areas or neighborhoods were hunting isn't allowed, but sadly don't see much action during the day in any spots. Just curious.
  13. He said it's his brothers house. Would you care if someone messed up something your family owns? Plus, I'm sure that he doesn't want to see crap car parts littered on property that they maintain. Anyway, he was just venting....and yes, some people are messed up.
  14. If the tick is on the deer already, then they have warmth and food. The col usually won't do much. It will kill the ones on the ground/grass. I've never shot one that didn't have ticks.

  16. Took a shot today at an 8, like an idiot I rushed the shot and sailed 1 right over his back. I'm just happy that it was a super clean miss. He came right in for a grunt call, and was moving at a good pace with his nose to the ground. Hopefully I'll see him this week.
  17. Harbor Freight had the 2" rear mount aluminum racks on sale for like $89.00. They also have 1 that folds up, so that it's up against the tailgate/trunk when not in use.
  18. I used to enjoy watching all the people in the diner on opening morning wearing camo and blaze orange, smelling like bacon and cheap cigars. Why you would wear your hunting gear into a restaurant in beyond me. Also the guys fueling up their trucks with gas or diesel was always good.
  19. I think the Euro looks nice. I have a basket 7 mounted, that was my 1st buck with a bow. And I still remember the whole hunt over 20 years ago. There was a guy who had so e Euros done then mounted them on natural wood on this or another forum, they looked real nice.
  20. Nice. Congratulations to him. He's defiantly hooked by the huge smile on his face. And congratulations to you for taking him and getting him involved in this great sport.
  21. Many years ago, there was a buck out near North Sea that was hitting a telephone pole. Of course you couldn't hunt the area, but I'm sure that someone got him. Never saw him or anymore rubs that size again.
  22. Congratulations ! That's a real nice looking rack.
  23. Had 1 small buck hit by car at about 2:00 pm on Friday around the corner, and passed another small one on sunrise heading east on Saturday.

    New here

Welcome. And Good Luck this season.
  25. I went out this afternoon, got in a little later than I wanted. I heard lots of movement, and then about 4:30 had a small 6 come in. He hung around for about 5 minutes, his head in the air sniffing the doe scent. I was hoping the bigger guys would have come in after, but no such luck. I'm going back in tomorrow and see what comes out.
