  1. I carry two knives hunting a Buck Muskrat (discontinued) and a 110 Folding Hunter. Mostly for field dressing I use the Muskrat. If I use the 110 its generally just to get the anus completly free of the channel through the pelvis. For skinning deer nothing no nothing beats an Alaskan Ulu. I see too many guys with 6-8" fixed blade knives cut open the gut on deer messy, smelly, and ruins meat.

    Pig Bomb

Saw it months ago. Gettin damn ugly the way feral pigs are in some areas breeding with escaped Russian boars. Felt sorry for the guy that lost his entire peanut crop.

    pics

Easy open an account at photobucket.com Then down load your pix to the site. Once done put cursor on the pic you want. you'll get a drop down select the last one IMG highlight with a left click right click and select copy. Come back open to post right click and select paste. Having two windows open will save time one to photobucket and one to the thread you want to post in. Simple. You will see an IMG code when you paste it in but once you post it the pix will appear. 4. From the looks of it a coyote already had his share. Looks to be missing a whole hindquarter
  5. Back in the 70s they were in deep trouble. Like eagles and falcons DDT affected their egg shells. Same with blue herons. But the falcons and eagles got the publicity cause their purdy. Little trivia Before the civil war there were no vultures in the area surrounding Gettysburg. But both armies left hundreds of dead horses on the field; now Gettysburg has a large population of vultures
  6. In NY you DO NOT need insurance! Unless you have access to ride on Some of the County parks snowmobile trails in winter. I ice fish all the time and have had many encounters with DEC Officers all they ask for is registration never insurance proof as it is not required. The area where I hunt everyone rides the roads esp farmers all summer long. I have passed NYS Troopers and County sherriffs on the road coming and going to my bowhunting spots and never once has one stopped me for riding on the road. This is in the town of Villenova Chat Co.
  7. To ride in the County parks here in the winter on the snowmobile trails you have to have an ATV registered and insured. The snowmobilers aren't happy about ATVs on the trails they think they own them. Snowmobilers are some of the biggest jerks around. They seem to think just because a trail crosses a farm its OK to do donuts in winter wheat fields
  8. I know the trails and logging roads like the back of my hand no lights needed.
  9. Sorry I just had to go and was miles from a bathroom.
  10. I go slow in the woods first gear slow. A couple of times I've had an oppurtunity to lay it on its side. Only thing hurt was my pride and a few scratches. Like I said its mostly used to set treestands before season and to carry out deer. And ice fishing donuts on smooth ice are a blast.
  11. You can ride your ATVs in some county parks in the winter on snowmobile trails. Snowmobilers are real happy about this. NOT!!!!! Must have it registered and insured. Chestnut ridge in Erie County is one. The feeling is if its open to snowmobiles it should be open to ATVs. My cousin closed the snowmobile trail acroos his land after two years running the snowmobilers thought running circles and such in the open fields was fun. What they didn't factor in was those fields were full of winter wheat and rye he was growing for the grain. They destroyed a lot of his crop. So he posted it up and dropped large logs across the trail.
  12. I could use about five to ten pounds of fish carcasses for the trapping season. If you have freezer space bag and freeze and get back to me here. Thanks
  13. Nope that beaver was caught on private property in 2001. The owner never let anyone on his hunting property but family and friends. And there were always beaver there but one summer he went down to the property and found three more dams and almost half his hunting property underwater. That's when he called me. That bugger was the first of twenty two beaver that came off the place. He weighed in at sixty five pounds Most were in the forty to thirty range. now every couple of years I go in and do maintenance trapping. I get some real nice mink and rats off the place too.
  14. Iteresting at gander I've seen 3 blade Rage, Bags of acorns, acorn powder, and primos battery operated doe in heat cans. All with signs they are illegal in NY. So why do they sell them in their NY stores?

    Geese

Haven't seen any snow geese out my way but quite a few swans nesting in some of the larger ponds.
  16. I've got a Honda Rancher 350cc. Gets my deer out of the woods. Also beats walking two miles out on Erie to icefish. Dragged some fair size logs out this spring for firewood 12"X20' Waiting for Harley to come out with a 96 cu in job. That'd be wicked in the woods.
  17. Its pure stupidity. Hunter Training: "Never shoot at the water!"
  18. What do you guys think of law on turtles. only legal implements gun or bow. do you think shooting a bullet at water is a good idea?
  19. Howdy I'm from just south of Buffalo Archery and gun hunt. Fish and trap. I see Mr VJP is here.
