Concern is growing surrounding the ATF's effort to redefine the term "gun dealer." The ATF has taken the phrase "to predominately earn a profit" for a gun dealer and is seeking to expand it to include anyone who would sell a firearm. This would include gun collectors, as the new rule narrows what is meant by "personal collection" to "personal firearms that a person accumulates for study, comparison, exhibition, or for a hobby." Conspicuously absent is "self-defense." To make matters worse, the new rule adds to "personal collection" the following condition: "shall not include any firearm purchased for the purpose of resale or made with the predominant intent to earn a profit." But one of the primary motivations behind building a collection of anything is often turning a profit. What the ATF is attempting to do is declare that anyone engaged in the buying and selling of a firearm is a "gun dealer" and therefore will need to be licensed as such. This is yet another attempt by the Biden administration to infringe on Americans' Second Amendment rights.

I'm still using aluminum arrows in my recurve and my compound. I had a hundred of them at one time and still have a dozen left, so I have not changed yet. I may continue to use them when I buy new ones if I can find the same type in stock somewhere.

I just have a rope pulley in my shed that I've used for years. I find it allows me to hoist a deer by myself easy enough, though it does have a lot of rope to wrap up when I use it. I just hang my deer for a while then take it to the butcher close by. He de-bones all the cuts and vacuum wraps everything real good in clear plastic so it doesn't get freezer burn even if it's in the freezer for a year. For $100, I have too many other things I'd rather do during the hunting season then spend time butchering deer anymore. I used to take me at least 6 hours to do it all myself and I don't have the vacuum sealer and plastic bags, so I just let him do it while I continue to hunt or relax.

Yes, you read that correctly. If they lock you up (or down), you will need to somehow find an attorney to get you out of quarantine. Of course the reg says that they will appoint a lawyer to you if you cannot afford one, but, well, what does that look like exactly? Their Orwellian rule doesn’t actually say how you get that appointed attorney, or when. So, will you need to ask them a hundred times before they get you one? And what kind of lawyer will it be? A criminal defense lawyer? When laws or regs say that you will be given an attorney if you cannot afford one yourself, it’s typically connected to a penal law (ie a criminal law, meaning you committed a crime). But, so, what crime did you commit here? Maybe you sneezed. Or, maybe you looked sideways at a DOH employee and they were offended by you. Or, maybe you posted something on social media that the overlords didn’t like. There are just endless possibilities of reasons why the DOH could lock you up when they need not prove you are actually sick!"

I visited my FFL yesterday and asked him if muzzleloaders will now require a NICS check and was surprised to hear he couldn't say for sure. Apparently, most FFL's have not been adequately informed on the details of the law taking effect on 9/13. He said confusion is very high and many are angry about it. He's not sure where this will lead or how things are going to shake out, but he doesn't think it will be good.

I like the .260 Remington because of the reloading possibilities. Not as fast as the 6.5 PRC, but better than the Creedmoor when fired in a custom fast twist barrel.
