  1. BTW, I'm not a Bible thumper, but I have studied philosophy and sociology, with a great deal of reading in the religious area. It is quite heavily entwined in our country's history and has had tremendous influences on all of our laws.
  2. The Bible addressed it and Jesus confirmed it when questioned about it with the answer given prior. As far as legality of the issue, I was referring to Same Sex Marriage, not homosexuality in general. But it does point out the issue of how people feel threatened by the expansion of liberal agendas. Many people protested the legalization of homosexuality predicting it would one day lead to Gay Marriage. They were accused of being paranoid and non-sensical at the time.
  3. By US Legal standards, until otherwise changed by law and not by executive fiat or judicial activism.
  4. He did address it. He said, "Hate the sin, but love the sinner."
  5. Satan has said the same thing on many occasions. I wonder why? You didn't watch the video, did you. No one fights Obama's Socialist agenda harder than the Catholic Church. You should at least give them credit on that score.
  6. By forcing America to accept immorality against their religious beliefs without putting it to a vote by the general public is tyranny and in violation of the first amendment.
  7. It's all part of Obama's Socialist plan. Morality and traditional values must be rendered ineffective to win the fight. Here's a video about his attack on his biggest opponent, Catholicism.
  8. They have the same rights as every other American. They can marry any other person they choose, as long as they are of the opposite sex. That is equality by definition. What they are asking for is preferential treatment and an exception to the standard right. If they get it, they will have been granted a right that is not for the general populace, but for a protected class of people only. That is a very dangerous thing to start doing with regard to rights. Elected officials do not have the power to infringe on Constitutional rights, even if all of their constituents want them to do it. We are a land governed by the rule of law, not the tyranny of men. As far as the judgement allegation, I'm not judging the man, I'm judging the action being promoted. If you understand the Bible, you know that is what we are called to do. The pious do not allow immorality to prosper without objection.
  9. Elmo, it does affect you. The loss of traditional family values has already created many problems in this land and this will accelerate the problems. What's to stop redefining marriage from progressing to multiple spouses? This could also signal the end of the family unit, which is the keystone to any society. The Left puts out a lot of propaganda about how gay marriage will not be a threat, but if you seek out opinions from the other side, which are never published in the mass media, you will find a lot to be worried about. When anything goes in a society, eventually everything will be gone.
  10. All examples of human frailty and poor decision making by people who disregarded their faith. The faith itself is not the problem, human imperfection is. One could site examples of atrocities for any segment of society throughout history. There are plenty of causes for it that have nothing to do with faith. There are probably more examples of genecide happening to people of faith, than atrocities being committed by them. If the alternative is atheism, I don't think that is going to make things better regarding human decision making in this global society. Just forcing the removal of faiths from society, as the Soviets did, is a red flag of pending oppression of the people. Besides, the government wants to set itself up as the God all citizens should follow. That can not be accomplished if there is another God it has to compete with.
  11. I would have to closely inspect that A&F O/U to see what proof marks it has to tell what country it was made in and possibly who made it. Like Setters said, A&F put their name on many imported shotguns over the years. But you can be sure they only put it on fine quality shotguns that weren't inexpensive.
  12. Aren't you generalizing the Faiths based on the actions of a few of the individuals that practice it? Where does the Christian faith promote intolerance...bigotry...prejudice...hatred...or stupidity? Christian faith speaks out against all of those things.
  13. Not if you listen to God's word and read it. It's a stretch to think God doesn't communicate to us all the time. It's also a stretch to assume God has a gender. The male term is only used in scripture as a tradition for "Father" This is the most Faith Intolerant POTUS the country has ever seen. http://patriotpost.us/alexander/14304/ And you Early, seem to be of the same persuasion: Quote..... Only explanation is that their actions are dictated by their faith. "Faith" generates intolerance...bigotry...prejudice...hatred...and, yes, stupidity! (BTW, my question was about those who protest Chick-Fil-A, not the Muslims) Do you have this same opinion of all faiths, or just the Christians in America?
  14. God created the world and filled it with choices. Good choices and bad. You become what you are as a result of a lifetime of choices. The end result is what God's going to be evaluating when you meet him. Life's simply a test consisting of good deeds and temptations. Some folks choose wisely and always choose the good, others always fall for temptation. Most folks struggle with the choices because they lack faith, or it has been deminished by the lectures from society. Being born gay is one thing, practicing gay sex is another, and promoting gay marriage is the obvious result of the prior two. IMHO it is a death spiral most people haven't got the capacity to envision via extrapolation.
  15. Muslim business owners often refuse to serve homosexuals and they are not getting boycotted by these same folks who are screaming about Chick-Fil-A. How do you explain that?
  16. I'm saying the left has an in your face attitude about anyone that doesn't agree with them. It's rude, intolerant of other's opinions and borderline illegal. I find it interesting they wish to boycott Chick-Fil-A because it's owners support traditional family values, but they continue to buy gasoline, which is made from Arab oil. The Arabs put homosexuals to death. The Left (Liberals, Progressives, Democrats, etc.) isn't tolerant in general, as they want to ban a lot of traditional things, like guns, free speech they don't like and religion. They're just tolerant of a lot of things most Americans find vulgar. BTW: The owners of Chick-Fil-A never refused to serve anyone or hire them either. They just supported a traditonal family values organization and confirmed it to a reporter. That's free speech in my opinion and boycotting them for it is Un-American.
  17. I run into bears often in the Catskills. They never get aggressive though. I just yell at them and wave my arms and they leave. Sometimes they run, other times just walk away. A friend actually had to kick a bear in the rump once to get it to leave his yard. They are smart animals and seem to know when people are a threat to them. Spring and summer in NY is a time they couldn't care less what humans do near them. I won't speak of encounters with a sow and cubs though as I have yet to run into that.
  18. After all the support the company recently got, they plan to occupy Chick-fil-As across the country on Friday for a "National Same Sex Kiss Day" -- a fine juxtaposition of how conservatives and liberals demonstrate their support. Conservatives standing in line and purchasing a product. Liberals occupying private property with the objectives of offending others and preventing commerce. Seems to me the choice for patriotic Americans is quite clear.
  19. I'm a bit of a fanatic on shotguns. I love real fancy engraved sidelocks. Many come from the Italian Val Trompia area and I've had a few of them over the years. It's my favorite vice.
  20. Or city idiots wise up and vote for a leader who respects freedom and the US Constitution. Not that it's likely. Just saying.
  21. How much dirt do you want for your house?
  22. The Democrats eventually want to limit how much ammo you can possess at one time too. Allowing them to get away with this one, simply emboldens them to move on to the next oppressive attempt. They have already floated bills to limit how much ammo anyone can own, but they got shot down as ridiculous. But everytime they are allowed to pass any bill like this one, they lower the level of objection to each new, more restrictive bill, they want to put into law. Thinking this is common sense legislation is a recent trend. Twenty years ago, it would have sparked huge outrage from folks who were not numb to government oppression of our rights. How much are you willing to allow them to dictate? With every little encroachment, you invite them to come up with more.
  23. What you have is an Italian made Guild Gun from the Gardone Val Trompia region of Italy. This area is a gun making region of Italy that has many different family owned manufacturers that all work together to build custom shotguns. It is a gun makers guild. Their guns are of very good quality and will last for many years. They don't command really high collector prices because there are so many of them made and they are built under many different names. But as far as a hunting shotgun, they will serve you well for generations without a problem. BTW, that is a Grouse engraved on the bottom.
