Your asking the wrong person, but I doubt it. These measures may save a few lives or cost a few lives. But they arent going to stop the type of character who does these Columbine - Type Killings. Even if guns were never invented this type of criminal would find a way to kill groups of people.

Nobody working for any goverment agencies is speaking out because President Obama wants this and it is trickling down to the governer's of states with methane deposits in shale. Even conservation organizations have kept out of it because they are aware of how the goverment has empowered these gas companies. There is much grass-roots oposition as well as university and college based opposistion, but most of the major conservation orgs are staying out of it. This is partialy because methane was promoted as clean energy and even though that has been shown to be very much not the case many conservation groups are not up to date. Obama thinks he will be remembered as the first black president but he will be equally remembered as the jackass who (permanaently) destroyed the nations water supply from West Virginia to Upstate New York for (a ten year supply) of natural gas. Ironically it was the Bush Admin. which got this thing rolling. Vice Pres. Dick Cheney had a night job as CEO of Haliburton. Good Ole Dick crafted a piece of law which exempted gas companies from complying with the clean water act. Environmentalists refer to this law as the Haliburton Loophole which is named very accuratly. The justification for the law was to protect the "trade secrets" of the gas companies so that other gas companies wont learn what chemicals each of them use to extract methane. The law pretty much tells the EPA to let the gas industry do whatever the hell they want. No Obama didnt repeal this - he "invested" trillions of dollars in clean energy - read: he gave private gas companies tax payers money while touting him self as an environmentalist. The horrors and injustices are too numerous to list but I suggest everyone explore with google searches, facebook and youtube searches. You will hear a wide range of disturbing things from people getting arrested, handcuffed, and detained, on their own wooded property, for carrying a single shot.22 rifle, to possible links to cancer and everything between. -

PA signed hydrofracking gas leases on their state game lands. NY regulations will not allow drilling on lands , but they can drill horizontally under WMAs and other state lands. That storage water you speak of is going to be trucked to New Jersey for processing to remove the 600 mystery chemicals ( the Bush Administration said requiring them to disclose what they use violates their trade secrets); then the fluid will supposedly be mostly brine which will be used instead of salt for ice melt on our roads. In the summer it will be "spread on fields". Already doing this in PA and this is APPROVED in NY. Go figure... -
OK, but what about when the easy availability of guns is removed? The goverment has not been able to prevent drugs from entering and being distributed in this country for what 100 years? There will still be some guns available to criminals. Even with less guns available, criminals will use other weopons or means to kill people. Coumbine killers could have poisoned the cafeteria, hell they made bombs... Gun opponents are no less irrational than gun advocates when they dont offer a plan A.G. (after guns).

The proverbial "buffoon" hurts the image of shooting and hunting and I agree with you about that. But they are not the Colubines and the Jokers and the Sandy Hooks. This is an entirely different and unstudied mentality. And it must be fueled by Hollywood, and I think the fact that they choose to aquire and use guns instead of just mowing a group of people down with a car strongly suggests that it is in fact hollywood. What ever mental defect these people have it seems to be encouraged by shooting scenes in movies and/or copy catting similair crimes. And what if the case for bullying is true? Remember when that women was aquited for lopping off her husband's penis because she claimed he abused her? The experts said that caused her to do that. Personally, if she went for his lungs I would find it more credible, but I am not a mental health expert... Either way, abuse is taken very seriously by society, but when gun violence is involved the focus is on the guns and other factors seem to be forgotten. With or without greater gun restrictions all the factors must be addressed.

Except it isnt rednecks going into crowded buildings and shooting people. These have been suburban, well to do kids. Then there was the recent NYC incident. A redneck is defined as an uneducated farm hand - not exactly the same backround as the Joker either... Society needs to start looking at the DNA of the people who do these things as well as the DNA of the people who bully. Make Hollywood responsible and accountable and then lets see what we get...

Farm Bill and other conservation easements pay more than gas leases and improve your property instead of ruin it. Hunting leases alone or with conservation leases also pay more and only fools think hunting is an impact. Watch this youtube video. -

Depends what the bill is. Antler Restrictions is a good example. There are many other examples of hunters successfully stopping or advancing bills . It doesnt always take large numbers of hunters either. Nearly every one of these bills was introduced because somebody or some organization suggested it to the sponsoring lawmaker... They did not come to fruit by the lawmaker waking up one day and deciding : "I think I will sponsor a bill for a youth season or a crossbow season or antler restrictions". As far as elections: there are several lawmakers on this list that are sponsoring antagonistic bills. Hunters who vote in their districts should ban together and vote against them in the next election. Doesnt always work because the lawmakers know their constituents - one from St. Lawerence County isnt likely to sponsor antihunting bills because a lot of hunters live and vote in his district. A lawmaker from NYC however probably has the opposite demograph and would conduct bussiness accordingly... In districts where it is grey instead of black and white - a focused vote by hunters can send a lawmaker packing...

Well, you notice that the mainstream media has not covered this. The ASPCA and the Humane Society actually own stock in a lot of corporations. They very likely own part of the media as well. Considering the number of people who contribute to them as donors, follow their "religion" if you will, and that their doctrine has been allowed in public schools - that this is a least "newsworthy", wouldnt you agree?

I should not have titled this LOL - apparently he photographed some foolish act and posted it to his facebook page. To my knowledge there is no such thing as animal cruelty to wildlife - though the antis are working on it... I trap and I run dogs but dont condone this. There is an Old Husband's Tale about the need to get "fur in a dogs mouth". I have as much experience with dogs as anybody alive and I guarantee if you hold a dog back on a leash you will increase the desire more than "getting a mouth of fur". Its a well known dog behavior principle known as leash or opposition reactivity.

Maybe it is best you remove this thread anyway. Cant disagree with the antis on this one...

Here : Tell Congress to Investigate Wildlife Services Now! Wildlife Services’ agent Jamie P. Olson sic’d his dogs on live coyotes that were captured in steel-jawed traps. Wildlife belong to all Americans; they must not be brutalized by federal employees. Tell Congress to investigate Wildlife Services and rogue agents like Jamie P. Olson. WE APOLOGIZE, ONLY UNITED STATES RESIDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO TAKE ACTION ON THIS ALERT, HOWEVER WE ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO SEND A POLITE EMAIL TO THE U.S. SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE, THOMAS VILSACK. Wildlife Services is a costly, outdated, rogue agency that has no purpose in modern times. This week revealed more heinous acts committed by a Wildlife Services' agent upon our wildlife. Wildlife Services' agent Jamie P. Olson photographed himself siccing his dogs on live coyotes that were captured in steel-jawed traps. I urge you to investigate these cruel acts and determine to what extent other U.S. Department of Agriculture-Wildlife Services' agents use dogs to kill trapped wildlife. The Sacramento Bee exposed the horrible, unethical behavior by Mr. Olson on November 2, 2012. But this is not an isolated incident. As former Wildlife Services' agent Gary Strader told the Sacramento Bee, killing trapped animals with dogs "'is very common . . . It has never been addressed by the higher-ups. They know it happens on a regular basis.'" As the Bee also documented earlier this year, Wildlife Services kills tens of thousands of animals annually without accountability or oversight. The agency's war on wildlife endangers the public, their pets, and even its own agents. The death toll on our wildlife populations is unconscionable.

ASPCA Pays Nearly $10 Million to Feld Entertainment in Racketeering Lawsuit Settlement Humane Society of the United States Still Faces Millions in Potential Damages for Alleged Role in Fraudulent RICO Scheme Washington, D.C.—Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom calls attention to the breaking news that Feld Entertainment, owner of the Ringling Bros. Circus, has reached a $9.3 million settlement with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in connection with a federal lawsuit filed by Feld under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) Act. Feld’s litigation will continue against other animal rights defendants, including the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and two of its attorneys, Jonathan R. Lovvorn and Kimberly D. Ockene, who could be liable for tens of millions of dollars. Feld’s lawsuit alleges that ASPCA, HSUS, Lovvorn, Ockene, and others took part in an illegal scheme to pursue fraudulent litigation against Feld that dragged through the court for years. Federal judge Emmet G. Sullivan dismissed this previous animal-rights lawsuit in late 2009 after finding that the key witness for the animal-rights plaintiffs was “essentially a paid plaintiff and fact witness who is not credible.” In his dismissal, Sullivan exposed a system by which animal-rights plaintiffs funneled at least $190,000 to this witness. Feld alleges that the Humane Society of the United States sent six payments earmarked to pay this witness through a nonprofit front group controlled by plaintiffs’ counsel. Evidence from court documents shows some of the money was paid to the nonprofit group with an HSUS check signed by CEO Wayne Pacelle. The massive $9.3 million settlement by the ASPCA indicates that HSUS and other defendants could face tens of millions in damages if they are found to have acted illegally. Feld has stated that it spent $20 million dollars defending against the failed animal-rights litigation, and the RICO Act allows for triple damages. “While HSUS has spent this holiday season raising money with tear-jerking ads featuring pet rescues, the group really ought to be asking for money to pay for their defense attorneys and shady dealings,” said CCF Executive Director Richard Berman. “This whole racketeering scheme reeks of something out of a mob drama.” According to public polling, 71 percent of Americans mistakenly believe that HSUS is a pet shelter umbrella group, and 68 percent wrongly think that HSUS spends most of its money on grants to pet shelters. A recent survey of over 1,000 HSUS donors found that the vast majority gave to the group to help pet shelters or reduce pet euthanasia, and upon learning that HSUS gives just one percent of the money it raises to pet shelters, 80 percent of these donors felt HSUS misleads people. “HSUS cynically scams pet-loving Americans into giving money based on the false impression that HSUS is an organization devoted to sheltering abused dogs and cats, when it doesn’t even run a single pet shelter,” said Berman. “Every dog gets its day—and in HSUS’s case, that day should be in federal court.” For further reading about the RICO lawsuit, go to: http://www.humanewatch.org/index.php/pages/detail/rico_lawsuit/ ####
