Anyone counting down the days till May 1st ?
PostedBoys Gallego replied to HopkintonHunter's topic in Turkey Hunting
I can't wait not only to hunt bird, but use the afternoons to scout public land for deer season, go fishing in the late afternoons and bbq some backstrap, and chill with my buddies really. just a great weekend! where was that snow? -
Stateland /improving
PostedBoys Gallego replied to Dom's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
That is great of you to pickup trash. I do the same when I am on state land or any land for that matter. Can't stand to see bottles and junk laying around. As to food plots, I think it would cause wars between people hunting. I know you have the mindset of not worrying if others use it, but I can just imagine the fights that would occur. -
gotta love them hipsters... very clueless in many ways. i hope peta finds them at the film festival

I know what you mean Elmo. Might be cause we are from NYC (Bronx/Queens). We have a paranoid feeling of having a gun and being stopped by cops. Although when I am upstate I still have that paranoid feeling like I'm not supposed to have it unless hunting. Definitely not worried about Coyotes...damn those ghosts. I welcome a pack to descend upon me and ill climb a tree to record it all lol. then ill have a video worth watching!

If I had a permit for a handgun, I'd definitely take one when scouting. I'm planning on scouting this weekend deep into the Adirondacks and the only thing that concerns me is stumbling across a mother bear with curious cubs. I always feel better taking bear pepper spray at the very least. I do not intend to be that rare case that ends up on the news and then PETA types have a celebration at my funeral cause they found out I was scouting to hunt next season. Coyotes, nah, I went through so much hell to hunt them and never saw one that I might just try to grab and kill one with a knife if I see one lol.

Coyote Track?
PostedBoys Gallego replied to PostedBoys Gallego's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
If it is a bobcat that would be great. Never saw one in the 25+ years we've been there. So has anyone else had any luck with coyotes this season other than DownWindOutdoors? Any taken in the catskills or around 4P? -
Coyote Track?
PostedBoys Gallego replied to PostedBoys Gallego's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Well, I put together clips from my Coyote attempts this year. Took a full week off in late January, then two 3 day weekends in Feb and March... I'll let my video do the talking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p69wfYdL26o -
Coyote Track?
PostedBoys Gallego replied to PostedBoys Gallego's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
LMAO Elmo! don't shoot me if you see me in the woods barehanded. definitely not a regular dog, its pretty remote up there with no neighbors up and no dogs roaming ever. have caught several yotes on camera around the property and where the tracks were. must be double printed and maybe a nice big one. Below is the one I got last year, while observing a Deer hidden in a bush and then this girl comes circling around her and in my direction. Going up this weekend and hoping to get one by calling. -
photo(2) definitely coyote tracks as far as I can tell, but photo.jpg (the bigger one) looks like it has 5-6 toes...? Maybe the dog stepped twice within that area but its kind of clean looking for a print and does not appear to look like the paw moved around in there. Any ideas?

New Video - Make It Quick
PostedBoys Gallego replied to downwindoutdoors's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
definitely great videos and should be on TV! Don't know about everyone else, but damn, I find Coyote hunting insanely difficult. I just don't get to put enough time I guess although I did do a full week and 2 weekends already and haven't called in any kind of predator. How many yotes have you (downwind) gotten so far this year by each hunter? You should post some videos of the 'lows' and 'tough times' so i don't think it so damn easy lol! -
DIY in mostly everything is always the most rewarding no matter the size of the animal.

I personally feel that 'legal' does not always mean right. After all, these are laws created by Man which are flawed as himself. We should follow our inner voice/hearts and do right by it. Following only Man's laws is not always the right thing to do. Legally, you can do alot that really does not always feel like the right thing to do. I wonder if the people that enjoy this type of hunting feel its 'right' inside themselves or are just missing that part.

Not sure if directed to me, but no, I would not hunt Bear or any animal over any kind of bait. My goal is to hunt bear on its terms like I do whitetail. I try to learn where the animals forage their natural food sources are. Probably will not get a bear for 10 years but when I do..... I'll be very happy.

Can't stop a business making money, we live in America after all... but as a personal choice, I will never hunt a purchased deer or genetically enhanced one. I'm on a mission for real bucks, no matter how small they may seem to trophy hunters. I love this quote! "The rich…who are content to buy what they have not the skill to get by their own exertions, these are the real enemies of game" - Theodore Roosevelt

New Self Filmed Hunting Vids - "Posted Boys"
PostedBoys Gallego replied to PostedBoys Gallego's topic in General Chit Chat
Stayed up late to finish one more that I've been meaning to make. My first buck with the bow, 2010. I actually got this one on film! It was the first on film, and so far the only lol. Channel: First bow buck http://www.youtube.c...yz?feature=mhee Also working on finishing up my buddy Doug's first deer taken in 2010. Video started at 2 hours long and I just cut it down to like 10 mins or less. I was real proud of him that day! -

Hah, looks like we all been through that alright. Don't let it get to you. You are not alone. We all struggle! Last year, my buddy Doug went hunting for the first time ever and he got his first deer 2 hours into the first morning. I kept hunting hard all Rifle season and never had an opportunity (no doe permits, but only saw 1 anyways in the thick). He decided that was it for him and did not go back out again until this year. Well, the poor guy has a meatless freezer this year after hunting hard with me for a few weekends. Keep in mind, he does not have the same amount of time to go out like I do. But that is what happens. Sometimes you are at the right place at the right time and sometimes you are not. I believe in scouting and preparation, but even with all the homework you still might not get anything. It's tough man and we got tired of watching cable shows that do not show the 'boring' hard work that is involved. So we just put it out there and were ourselves, as dumb as we might sound at times, we love to just have fun and chill and when we go out there together. Gotta love Deer camp! -

Thanks Elmo. I know it is not the typical serious pro staffing video, but it is not meant to be either. Glad you enjoyed it. It's as real as it gets! We are going to work on keeping our foul language to a minimum next time we film. I posted on a texas hunting forum and it was deleted due to it being a family site. Thanks for not deleting it here! Here is another video I posted recently: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNM63bKK00Q&context=C322220eADOEgsToPDskKfP-CQMcC6TPxbFgCIZAr3 If you like it please subscribe. More to come! -
Hi all, My hunting buddy and I started filming our adventures so we could come back home and show the family what we actually went through. They turned out funny so we started cutting them down to smaller videos and decided to post them on youtube. No acting, just raw footage of our craziness and shows really that it ain't easy. Hope you enjoy it for what it is and it reminds you of your outings. Warning: There is no language filter on them so do not watch in front of anyone that should not be hearing it Hope you enjoy or just get a good laugh out of it. PS: Do not expect to see a lot of wildlife and monster bucks. We filmed exactly what went down. The point was to show the Wives that we MUST spend a lot of time going out because it is not easy. They thought it was easy because they are used to watching those cable shows where in 3 mins a monster buck is down.
