  1. I saw a coyote at 5 PM last week walking along the Saw Mill Parkway.
  2. Guys thanks for all the advice and direction so far. You asked for the topo map. I have two versions one with and one without the grid markings.
  3. You are right. I misread the tag. One is either sex and one is anterless. Thanks for all the info everyone, I'm squared away now. Can't wait!!
  4. NYC hunter here. I live in the Bronx, and hunt in Rockland county and the Catskills. BTW you can take the NYS hunter safety course right in the Bronx.
  5. Sorry guys that's my fault. The leased area is inside the red perimeter line. I should have made that clear. The grid is to call out references. Having said that, the borders are not fenced or marked, and we are friendly with land owners on both sides so accessing that land is possible as we have permission but I would prefer to stay on our piece of land if/when possible.
  6. Gents, I recently signed a 48 acre lease in the Catskills region. I am planning to scout the property the next weekend but I was wondering if I could get some professional advice before we hit the ground. How would you approach this? Can you help me identify some areas that might be good funnels for deer coming through the property? This is my first land lease so it's a little intimidating to have this land to figure out myself. We plan to bow and rifle hunt. It's mixed timber, there is a logging road that runs through the middle of the property that leads to a small clearing. Also, is it too late to attempt a small food plot on the property? I know the frost is looming but if I could get something in the ground this weekend would it take root? We have full land rights and the owner is ok with clearing trees to create a plot. I added a grid to help marking locations easier.
  7. Thanks growalot. This seems to answer it: Muzzleloading AND Bowhunting Privilege (orJunior Bowhunting)*-- You will receive one Bow/Mz Season Either Sex Deer Tag and one Bow/Mz Season Antlerless Deer Tag, both of which may be used in either season.
  8. By the way, I'm not trying to bend the rules or cheat the system here, I'm just asking to make sure I stay under the laws and guidelines set by the state.
  9. Question, picked up my tags yesterday. I paid for the bow hunting tag and the muzzle loader tag. However, the tags are identical. They both say Bow/MZ (either sex). What stops you from using both of these tags during bow season?
  10. I'm looking for 4R. Have beer, will travel.
  11. Considering I live in a 2nd floor apartment in the Bronx I'd say that's not really accurate.
  12. Guys, I hunt in Southern New York, specifically in zone 3R (Rockland County). Looking for a good, reliable deer processor in that area. Any recommendations? Blake
  13. OK, this might be a stupid question, but can I still use a bow during the regular season? I have a piece of land that is bow only.
  14. I hunt in the Southern Zone. I have two tags: Regular Season Deer Tag. Bow/Mz Season Either Sex Deer Tag Can I use my Bow/Mz Season either sex tag during the regular rifle season in the Southern Zone? Blake
  15. This bow is in great shape. I recently paid over $100 to have it tuned up and restrung. I have the receipt for the service. It has a brand new whisker biscuit rest, a brand new sling, and I upgrade the peep site to a larger hunting style peep site. I am selling it because I need to free up some money and I no longer use this bow. I'm asking $150 firm. Bow is right handed. 30" draw. Call me 703 776 0860. Hartsdale, NY.
  16. I purchased this rifle brand new in March of 2012. I need to sell it as I have been laid off and need to free up some $. This rifle is brand new, in the box and has never been fired. It's a high quality firearm. Check the reviews on Cabela's Chambered in 30.06. Comes with the scope mounted. I am in White Plains, NY but travel to Northern NJ frequently.
