  1. I couldn't agree more. It does take on a new level of persistance or commitment over typical point and shoot when you're dealing with constantly changing conditions. That's part of the challenge for me I really enjoy and learn from. How many times have we heard it said...."I wish I had my camera"? or " I wish I had a better camera" like that would gaurantee a one shot Kodak moment worthy of framing and pulling your Van Gough of the wall, lol
  2. Good grief..., that could be any # of us.... This site should require DNA swabs upon login to protect the innocent!
  3. Really appreciate you guys taking the time to look and comment! You all would think differently of me if you saw all the shots that didn't turn out quite right, lol.
  4. Tell her to get back in the kitchen and get to work on the dishes before she takes a break, lol Great idea with the suitcase!
  5. That's nuts! I never knew they'd latch onto cold blooded critters. As much time as I spend in the woods in the summer, I haven't had any chew on me yet.
  6. Thanks! That little guy has been following me around for the past 2 days. He's becoming quite the ham. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him soon!
  7. Critters have been laying low with this crazy heat. I hope the next set comes easier than these did.
  8. Too bad that Wildgame doesn't have burst mode...you probably missed the shot of Mom bringing up the rear, toting the bag full of bolt cutters, hacksaws, and black ski masks! I know nobody likes trespassers, but those guys look harmless.
  9. Nice catch biggamefish! That's actually a wood frog not a tree frog. Looks like that snake likes the drumsticks!
  10. Single_shot, With all the interesting little critters you find, I think you would enjoy a camera upgrade! I've only had one little brown tree frog here that cooperated for pics. Even though I hear them daily, they're almost impossible to find. Thanks for sharing!
  11. That's sharp! Not to take anything away from the knife itself, but that handle and sheath go together like peanut butter and jelly! Realy like that whole package though!
  12. Very helpfull link wdswtr! Looks like hogweed to me. Here's some shots of the leaves and stem I took too. Dang, that's the kinda confirmation to it's nastyness I was looking for.
  13. Haha- good stuff! You need to start carrying that chainsaw(turkey carver) with you when you check your plots.
  14. In my never ending quest for first hand knowledge, I may have to conduct a little experiment of my own back at the lab. I've got the perfect guinee pig for this, lol.
  15. Truthfully...it doesn't matter to me one bit if it stays or goes. Just thought it would be cool to hear of others experience with it.
  16. Easy fellas....I don't think ya want to smoke this stuff, lol http://www.dec.ny.go...mals/39809.html It's been all over the news and in the local papers for the last few years now here and has come up again this summer....supposed to be some real nasty stuff if ya get the sap on ya and spend some time in the sun. I had a small patch growing in the creek bottom I stopped by to check on today. It's turned into a forest of well over 100 plants growing in this spot with a few sattelite plants spreading out some distance away from the original site. Many of them are already well over 10ft tall. Anyone have any experience removing this stuff? Anyone ever come into contact with the sap and have any interesting reactions they'd like to share?
  17. Interesting... I don't like doubled rubbers on my ramrod, but it sounds like a good idea if you'r gonna be playing around a dirty hole, lol
  18. Dang....cat's outta the bag now, lol. Joe, just a FYI.... your gonna need some fresh batteries for all of them soon! Maybe get yourself a couple of them fancy solar chargers while you're at it...thanx,lol
  19. With this crazy heat we've been having I decided to set a cam at a secluded waterhole that showed signs of use. Ten yards from the edge, I found a fresh scrape that's getting some good action these past few days. Not a trditional table top, debris free scrape....just a disturbance in the leaves and a fresh licking branch overhead. Looks like this bachelor group took turns freshening it up after a cool drink of h20!
  20. VERY impressive buck and a fantastic looking mount!
  21. I took this shot of a little spiker about 3 days ago... Todays cam check he showed up with a broken bone. May be hard to see here, but when I blow it up his left antler is bloody and hanging down between his eye and ear. It looks swollen too. Kinda wondering if it will fall off or keep growing like this.
  22. Yup, it's their preferred method of 'bear'th control,lol I'm all for it....people like this shouldn't reproduce!
  23. I suppose if you look like that creep you take what you can get....poor Pooh!
  24. Who's working on the well...? Beer drinkers can run a hickory highlift all day long, lol!
  25. That's code for call up your boys, go buy the beer, and start digging! How far from the house is the well?
