Agreed. Unfortunately, most people want to enjoy the spoils without fighting the war. Hopefully people will wake up and the movement to protect our lands will gain some momentum. Right now I would say the odds aren't in our favor.

Great post. I have been following this battle lately and it is sickening to see our public lands anywhere in this country go to big money. I've joined Backcountry Hunters and Anglers and donated what I could and suggest everyone who can do the same, even if you don't personally hunt or fish public lands.

I forgot to say congratulations on your first turkey! Also, if you want even more of it to be utilized, send me the wingbones!! Haha

My son shot a jake a couple years ago that had no spurs, not even little nubs. I have also heard of full grown toms without spurs, it's a genetic defect. It's possible you shot one of those, your pic isn't loading for me, so I can't tell. I have also watched a hen go into full strut and gobble, so who knows what you shot! If a bearded hen showed itself right now I would take it. I really want to make a wingbone call and hen bones work best. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I recently came into a position as Measurer's chairman for the New York State Big Buck Club. I will eventually be doing sort of a class/scoring session for potential new measurers. I am looking for complete racks over 100" and decent size sheds, especially with abnormal points. We are a non-profit organization and 100% volunteer, so I can't ay for them, but I will pay the shipping cost. Before you guys start hammering in the insults, I know this is a real shot in the dark. Thank you
