I hunt in NEPA that now has had antler restrictions for a few years. In my experience if you can't tell what you are shooting at you shouldn't be shooting. Safety first and the quality of the shot. I understand sometimes you need to rush a shot and then ground shrinkage occurs but then you didn't truely know what you were shooting at.
Let it rip, I don't want to be screwing around with a bottle of pee when a deer walks out and it doesn't seem to bother them in anyway. I do usually pee on the tree and letting it run down to make less noise.
