Small Game vs. Early Archery.
Guns&ReligionCop replied to squirrel slayer's topic in General Hunting
I'm more than willing to sacrifice a few days for the kids. It was pretty awesome to hear about my bosses kid getting his first deer during the youth hunt today. It didn't ruin his archery fathers day in fact it made his fathers whole season. I love the fact that when I don't have as much time I can run around the woods small game hunting or when I have a few more hours I can sit an archery hunt.- 76 replies

We aren't talking about big foot here, we are talking about something that was indiginous to the region. North Dakota is a pretty long walk. Find that hard to believe. I know a farmer in Brooklyn PA that called DEC because he was having a problem with one and wanted to kill it legally. They said that MT Lions don't exist in PA even though he had multiply pictures and eveyone in his family had seen it. So he asked them if doesn't exist theres nothing stopping me from killing it because it doesn't exist. The DEC gave him a 24 hr number to call and they would come and get if he got it. Even if this one did walk from ND you can't believe others had or made the closer trek down from Canada? All of these sightings are hoax's?

NICE!!!!

Reports from PA-CT of sightings, trail camera photos, dna evidence and oh yea one got killed by a car last year in CT http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/13/nyregion/mountain-lion-is-found-in-connecticut.html?_r=0 PS:There is a reason they call Penn State the Nittany Lions!

My opinion only. Deer don't associate horse with danger having seen them in pasture together even getting right up on a deer while being on horse back, I believe it would be an great cover but I would still recommend washing your cloths now and then to get the sweat and other strong human odors

Always have a ratchet with me, You're crazy walking the woods without one. I was coming out the other night and I had a gray fox coming running up within 10 feet of me. He stopped and looked figured something was wrong and split. He was 1 foot away from a Speer .38 JHP +P. I love how states keep denying that these exist with the overwhelming amoun of proof that they do!

Looking into the legality of food plots.
Guns&ReligionCop replied to lsnydes's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Wow this thread spun wildly out of control. Legality is they are legal. Good luck telling people they can't grow crops are their land because it might attract deer. If you don't like them don't use them. If you do and you have the resources share with the rest of us Then everyone will love food plots! -
I have my harness set so its taunt when I'm sitting and loose when I'm standing. I won't fall more than a few inchs and will be able to use my stand to get righted again. The largest danger I feel is while climbing

It could be a number of things, injury early in the season that it recovered from, tough summer (draught) or it was bit by a zombie and you now are infected. My guess is your fine

I know a guy who missed a bucks body entirely and the arrow sliced right thru its pecker. Deer was dead in seconds. It was like something out of a horror movie, blood every where. Piss poor shot and dumb luck but the deer expired quickly

Definitely written by an anti! Not to be rude but if you couldn't tell it was written by an anti you have no reading comprehension skills. Look at the adjectives the author uses in these statements"he had hunted or slaughtered himself.", " hunting euphemisms for killed, skinned and disemboweled", "to take locavorism to blood-flecked new heights", "to blow things away" , "Mr. Zuckerberg’s personal year of slaughter ended in May" The author even said a liberal hunting was the equivlant of a republican coming out of the closet!

Pheasant release date?
Guns&ReligionCop replied to RPIBuckHunter's topic in Small Game and Predator Hunting
Just takes slightly different tactics as the dogs usually push the fields and the birds end up in the woods hiding in thick bushs. Last year I returned to my car with 2 roosters listening to about dozen guys with dogs complaining about how there were no birds. I only hunted for 30 mins and was done and kicked up 3 others. I've been quite successful without a dog over the years but even so I can't wait to evenutally get a good bird dog! -
Big fan of a 270. Nice flat shooting bullet

Congratulations to all of you successful so far. I finally got out this morning and all I had was a coyote bust me when I was climbing down. I wouldn't have minded sticking an arrow in that S.O.b.!!!

Two years ago I shot a mother with two fawns that were bigger and must have been born in early in the spring. The next day I saw both of them in the same spot unphased by the recent events. Last year I saw a doe with a fawn that looked like it was born late and was very small so I passed. A few days later a guy who hunts futher down told me he saw a doe with a tiny fawn and after he shot the mother the fawn just hungout like it was lost. I guess some fawns are bigger depending on how early they were born.

I think they maybe new because I'm pretty sure a few years ago electronic calls could only be used for predators and crows
