  1. hell yeah Bob! I know how hard you've worked, what a sweet day!
  2. so many crossbow pics... tsk tsk relax i'm just poking. congrats to those who braved the winds yesterday.
  3. Was hoping for that too, but he kept going with his lights on haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. A half mile is nothing for critters to carry corn Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I swear there are like 4 different properties shooting what sounds like pistols and all I want to know is where they’re getting their ammo from haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Very odd lack of movement in 8F. Rut, no moon, cool and overcast, front moving in... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. 1 deer last night, but spent 45 minutes on a conference call that shouldn't have lasted that long. Still beats being at work. 7+ deer this am, but no shots at those I was targeting. Was an absolutely beautiful morning though and one can't complain about that.
  8. that sounds worth a try. I'd like to make use of it if I can. This was 3 days old but not frozen (as I've heard that's a no-no), so good to know. I've also heard that liver is better in younger animals and this one was at least 3.5. It wont go to waste though, my golden seems to love it!
  9. Made some liver mousse for the first time. Used a recipe from the meateater fish and game cookbook... and I guess if I didn't have anything else to eat haha. It wasn't terrible and it wasn't good. There's an aftertaste that doesn't seem to go away. I'm going to try liver and onions next and then this organ stays in the woods.
  10. can't believe there's been no blood spilled this AM. I'm going to do my best to sit a few hours tonight but it might be tough with work and other obligations.
  11. better to move in wind and rain then any other time if you're doing so midseason. also shoot for midday.
  12. i'm not sure anyone was talking FPS with grampy, but simply giving suggestions on makes and models that might be more comfortable. Hell I was pushing a PSE and I'm a Matthews guy... your hatred for them never ceases to amaze me
  13. i understand. My Matthews has the same but there is some tech in that PSE that just gives it a crazy valley and holdover. At the very least you can pick it up and play with it. Someone more knowledgeable than me can better describe it maybe.
  14. grampy i hate to read this. when i was bow shopping last year I really liked the PSE because it was like not holding anything back at all. You had to basically push it forward to let down. Maybe it'd be a good fit for you?
  15. it's not exactly the time to hunt food, and a better time to hunt transition areas and fringes where they're cruising.
  16. man the timing on this was perfect. this is why i love this place!
  17. i don't disagree with this per say, but isn't there curiosity on your part on the shot and if it landed on its mark or not?
  18. not too knowledgeable on crossbows, but i always assumed they were pretty flat shooting sub 40. would your aim point be significantly different at that yardage? PS glad you're bringing the compound back out
