  1. there's a vegan board that would love to entertain your opinion. There's no reason to bring race into this. Why can't america stop bringing race into EVERYthing?
  2. and to continue the analogy, the cop quit. Which is his right. Many cops have quit recently as they've felt their lives are in dangers or the laws they're asked to enforce are unjust. This analogy is obviously a lot more serious than the silly one we have here, but it still fits.
  3. my portfolio lost 8% yesterday. worst day i've ever had and I'm pretty well diversified. PENN clawing back today, aapl not so much.
  4. I'm not great to ask on this because I get greedy haha. Some of the best, hardest to follow advice I've received is to set your %profit goal and stick to it unless there is a change with news/market that would prompt you to sell before or hold out. Personally with options, anything above 100% is freaking awesome. 200% and you should be smiling. 300% and I'd gtfo before it's too late
  5. Just wanted to say I really like wny and eddie. One i've met in person and I think they're both standup guys. I've long been an advocate to remove the political section for anything not related to guns/conservation/hunting and it's always met with "YOu'Re TRyING to CenSOr my FrEE spEECh". I would still love to at least try it for a while. You may see many come back or new members join, or not... but I think it should be explored.
  6. I've seen both. Both car forums. Both were dying slow deaths because the cars aren't made anymore, but one was the wild west and turned a lot off, but also attracted many. You get what you would expect though. An active off-topic section and a much smaller contribution to the core of the forum as the truly passionate people seem to tune out. There was another forum where the rules were so strict and one particular mod gave out point warnings for farting and nobody tuned in, there was a splinter forum started as a result but the issue became that the car itself didn't warrant 2 forums and both are alive but barely as the base is spread out and thin. Kinda like what happens when political parties splinter ie tea party or progressives. edit to say i agree with you on off-topic. But the very active forums i belong to allow off-topic with the exception of nudity, religion, politics.
  7. This is a good idea. My 3 sons can help add to the anti-crossbow numbers. 2 of them can't read or spell, but that doesn't stop a lot of you
  8. some people go outside and smoke a cig, others poke around on a forum.
  9. I got the impression that it wasn't so much the picture, but that after it was removed he went and posted it again. I can understand how the retaliatory act is worse. A cop tells you to stop reaching into your glove box and you should probably comply...
  10. I was assuming he was kung fu fighting. That cat is fast as lighting.
  11. sounds like the issue was with the flagrant reposting. Not to mention it wasn't the first to be removed. Seems like someone was just testing their limits and it's not like eddie's getting paid.
  12. i mean now that you have a daughter, i think it's fair game
  13. it's a pretty good thread if you can use some sense of decency. I know I read it just about every day.
  14. yeah etrade does. I'd prefer not to post my positions though. I've found talking about money is worse than talking religion, sex or politics haha.
  15. well, yes he stated that it was with a disagreement with wnybuckhunter. But I imagine it stems from those issues created in that particular thread.
  16. He removed several posts in the today's chuckle thread posted by chef, and continued to do so for a while. I never saw them, but the idea was that they pushed the limits a little too far in what was already a pretty boundary pushing thread. We had a goal of being a family friendly forum, but I'm not sure that we are or is there an owner or mod group out there pushing this... so there is an argument that maybe it should be a free for all... but all that said, this is supposed to be a hunting forum and it seems we talk more about non-hunting than we do hunting most of the year outside of deer season. I don't think jerkman's signature helps either.
  17. Many dems have put together plans for improved healthcare though, and while some are loony toons, others are respectable. Republicans have put forth no plans. However, I do agree that the gun grabbers don't make this connection either.
  18. biz should provide a much better response here, but generally the fundamentals rest on the fact that more and more states are legalizing gambling and this year is expected to be the biggest year yet for betting on the tournament (legally). But often people buy on the rumor and sell on the news, which may be happening now. that and they are replacing xerox in the s&p
  19. I'll just go and say it too, I'd much rather have you as a mod than chef as a member. don't at me.
  20. Wait, so we have 2 or 3 inactive mods and now the only active mod is going? An owner that updates the software but the home page updates are from 2019... Not a good sign for the future of this forum.
  21. man 127 afterhours last night biz and what a reversal pre-market. ouch.
  22. decoy is great. Another "duck" wine I really like is smoking loon.
  23. you use an excel file and not your traders tool?
  24. this new bill or even a registry wouldn't have stopped that. Until they have a probe to stick up your ass and accurately depict if your sex addiction will lead to mass murder, it'll continue to happen because the gun is a tool only and is not the issue here. mental health is the issue. and this is where republican's shoot themselves in the foot and a big reason we are losing. The american people are screaming for health reform. Many don't want universal health care, but they want better access to mental health, substance abuse help and cheaper prescriptions like insulin. And all the republicans do is try and repeal obamacare while only talking about some plan of theirs but never talking about it or doing anything. If the gun isn't the issue, and the person is the issue, you need to pivot the discussion away from the guns and replace it with your healthcare plan. We haven't done a good job or any job at doing this.
  25. I read the same article. The people quoted in the article are from 2 pro-gun groups. One, the NRA, which in my opinion has done wonderful things in the past, but lately cut off its nose to spite it's face and that's why I stopped renewing my membership that I had for 15 years. They both only cite future concerns and fears and have no credible argument on the current bill.
