Tikka T3

Savage 99 in 250-3000 and Winchester 64 in 30-30.

I use grandfathers Winchester 64 and Savage 250-3000, Have several bucks mounted because of these rifles.

I went with a Tikka T3 in 7-08 six years ago and never looked back. Had the barrel cut to 18inches and mounted a Lupe 2x7 on it. I like the Tikka because of the detach magazine. I load and shoot 140 gr BT and hunt the Adirondacks were I live. I leave the Remingtons in the safe now but still take the Savage 99 in 250-3000 for a couple of walks each year.

I have one in 7-08 and its my go to rifle. The Remingtons and Rugers now set in the safe. I had the barrel cut to 18 in. and it still shoots great. Never had second thoughts about buying it.

I've been carrying one for three yrs now in 7-08. I load 140 Rem PSPCL and they just flatten deer. I've got a Leupold 2-7 on it. Only problem I have is when shooting it without a hunting coat on I use a slip on pad for extra length. Other than that it's a great gun.

Six of us hunt 6R and everyone of us got ours. Cant understand how they make selections??

I shot Ballistic Tips for several years and last fall went back to loading everything with Core Lokt. 6MM 308 708 30-30 35 Rem Never lost an animal with them and I think less meat damage.

Due to a bad shoulder I gave up bow hunting 10 yrs ago. Is there anything that can assist me with drawing and holding a compond bow at full draw now. Any suggestions and archery shops that could assist would be great. Thanks

I dont wear orange in the north. I wear an orange hat walking into my stand in south zone, and then turn back to camo. I've been hunting now for 41 years, and I have never seen a hunter dressed in camo or ORANGE that looks like a deer or bear.

I have a carberator Cub Cadet. Plow with a lift (not winch) full enclosed cab with the sports camo package, light bar and kolpin gun case. I bought the rear seat for the back from Cabelas comes with seat belts. I had a Polaris Sportsman 500 and went with the s x s. I tried them all but went with the Cub. Top speed is 21 mph where the others are 50+ mph. I carry insurance on it and under NYS VTL you cannot register it like an ATV. I have the triangle on the rear and been stopped several times and checked for insurance no tickets yet for being unregistered. I bought the slow model thinking if they pass the law to register maybe they will be by speed. but who knows.

I also wear mine on my back pack. I spend to much money on jackets that do not have a lic. loop on them and I'm not about to poke a hole in GORTEX.

We used to put some big drives on in the old days up in Arrietta and Morehouse. The guys I hunt with know just put small still hunts on to the younger hunters. We seem to spend to much time looking for the kids when they wonder off, so the old guys do the still hunts.

Just found this place. New guy here. Retired LEO hunting and fishing Hamilton Co. I enjoy hunting, fishing and reloading. Retired after 25 years now finally going to do what I used to day dream about while working. Been seeing lots of deer this summer but only two small bucks. Hope the big boys made it through the winter.
