  1. There ya go. Dug it up just for you and great memories for me and a couple other guys that use this great site! Dont know where or how you hunt dont there but sounds like you may need to learn a new trick or two. I have that many in my alfalfa fields on all sides of the farm every night. There is no bragging to find and kill a big buck. Its called hunting and killing an animal that happens to be the smartest animal in the woods! On his turf and terms. If that makes me bad for being good at it then thats something i can handle and if thats the case then 99% of hunters wish they were as bad as me. You take from hunting what you will and everyone else will take something for them. Mine just happens to not be killing baby deer and tiny bucks. Pretty Simple! You say im not a hunter. What would you call a guy that throws 200-300 feet of rope over a hill to get down to where he hunts and has a hand cart with a 500ft winch welded to it that is run by 2 marine batteries to take any deer out of any spot?Thats not for the real big ones of course. They get cut and caped on the spot and packed. Nah..Would rather just pop a tiny one up next to the road!
  2. Stubby i went back and dug this up just for you! That park is loaded with deer. In the places they live!
  3. Oh please. You must feel sorry for 99.9% of the hunters that walk in the woods today. I hear all kinds of guys putting in food plots ant throwing up a bunch of trail cams so they can see what size does they have running around. If you need to see 15 to 20 deer a day to get your deer or enjoyment out of the hunt then you have a problem. Your 10 to 15 deer a day were blated out by the farmers whos land all those little inbred 50 and 60 pound deer that used to be there. Take a look at the harvest thread from last season at the pic i put up on the park deer we take. The park still has to many deer in some areas we hunt and 10 deer a day is easy and last year there were 10 in a herd come down at times. Dont try to tell me what kind of enjoyment i should get out of hunting. Some of us like a challenge!
  4. I have hunted that park for 17 years. I was there when you could see 100 deer a day on either end of the park. I am not sure where you hunt but there is no lack of deer on the park where we hunt. Like i said, We took like 16 and 2 would make P&Y. That was on the park not on the farm. My farm borders the safety zone so there will never be a lack of deer . My farm had nothing to do with the conversation untill someone brought it up,which he does in every thread i make a post in( Envy). If anyone on this site paid attention on what goes on in other parts of the country along with Ny you would see the writing on the wall. People know there are only so many places to hunt and even fewer good places to hunt so its now come to who writes the biggest check. Has been that way for years in some states and now with the way states DEC and DNR's are messing up the population it has spread. I said you would be on one side of the line or the other and that i knew what side of the line i would be on. Thats called being smart and ready. The future of hunting for me and those around me will not be an issue regardless of what happens to hunting as a whole for many years to come. Ya snooze Ya lose!
  5. Dont worry Wooly, It wont be long and there will be no hunting on state parks. With guns anyway's. The bikers and hikers will soon out number and over power hunters and the state will fold for the monies. How the heck wll we hunt when Ny takes all our guns away? Here is where you pencil in Archery and X-Bow's if we are lucky!
  6. Again another guy that says its all about me making money because i have land. There is no hoping, i am saying what the facts are. If i decide to lease my land then so be it but that day will never come. The day will come that hunters will have two choices and you will have the states to thank for that. I cant wait untill the day comes that you 3 say i am gong to make all this money off hunting. So far in taxes and such its cost me alot without any coming back. I will continue waiting for that ship to come in i guess!
  7. Yes please do and take doe with ya. Facts are facts and you two cant handle when someone shows them to you! Typical...
  8. Just shows you have been beat again. There is no fault you have just been beat with the facts again! Seems you like to engage untill you get the facts and truths shoved in your face then you make some stupid comment like this. Shows just what you dont know.
  9. Putting words in peoples mouths again huh???? Like i said. The smart person can see where the future of hunting is headed and ready for it...Hence i own land where as you will be cutting the check or playing with the pumpkins on state land fighting over them spikes. You like to bring up them big bucks standing in knee deep alfalfa that i have every chance you get. Even when it has nothing to do with the conversation at hand. That tells the whole story about you!!
  10. Well lets see...I believe it says that...We will be managing or lands and not the state...Which is line with the conversation....So now please try to cover for your brother and show where there was any post about me charging to hunt..Selling any deer or anything about farm deer...Good luck with that!!!
  11. Agreed 100% and truth is you either own the land or lease the land to hunt on? You also get paid for your services. Thats great and happens alot in our hunting world. Maybe that Steve guy will read this post about a guy that makes money off hunting and helps people at the same time. Congrats to you and keep up the good work helping those that cant do it themselves!
  12. Please go back and show us the post that i replied to that i brought up deer farming, hunting behind fence or selling any deer to anyone! You brought up my farm and my deer in one of your stupid little ploys to try and change the whole conversation. Fact is i do not make any cash of any of hunting property. Thats what the conversation was about!!! Fact My livelihood is running my auto repair shop so you are clueless there again. My hobby is raising whitetails! I dont really care which way hunting goes myself because unlike you i was smart enough to go out and get 1000 acres of great hunting land and i was also smart enough to start a hobby that just happens to be part of the fastest growing industry in the country. Thats what has your goat about me. Its called envy! Deal with it!!! Ask Meat or a few of the other boys that lease land on this site exactly why they do so?
  13. Boy you just love talking about and bringing up my farm in a thread that has nothing to do with fences. That shows you have nothing to bring to the table. You talk of me lining my pockets? Dont see where i said i ever charged anybody to hunt my property. I guess you just have a hard time with the real world. I guess in a few more years when the pinch gets a little stronger you will feel it. There will always be hunters and those hunters will want to be on the top properties that produce.Big Racked Bucks..Period! Now if you could get back to the op and find something productive to say about DMP's going uo 17% to try and fix years of Ny state piss poor deer management.
  14. Another one that refuses to see the writing on the wall. Did i anywhere say i charge people to hunt my property? Did i anywhere say i had plans to lease my property? Im telling you that it is coming to that regardless. I am not a real hunter you say? Good one. Only 50 years old and running since i was 12. I my friend have seen where hunting was and is and can see the writing on the wall for the future. You make a post such as this and then ask where my property sits on Letchworth. Ha..Good one! Letchworth is a fine example of what hunting should be. 17 years ago Letchworth was a joke with 100 deer standing in the roads at any givin time. I take it you were one of the ones that sat on the upper half in view of your truck and waited for those 60 pounders from years gone past! We took 16 deer off the park last year with a couple in the high 120's. Still to many deer on some parts of the park.
  15. Yeah you are exactly the poster child for the whiners. You cant handle when someone shoves the truth in your face and with a reply like the one above everybody on this site less maybe your 2 sidekicks can see what you bring to the table. Look on the bright side...There will always be that little spike buck waiting for you on the state land. He will be the first one that steps out so no need to check him out. Just blast away! The DEC...HaHaHa..Thats a good one. They have a hard enough time managing the papers on their desk then to tell someone how to manage their lands. I invite them with open arms seeing that they are here 2-3 times a year for a little pow-wow. Even have one DEC employee that hunts along with a city cop so i'm good with that!
  16. Thats not bizarre my friend....Thats the real world! You may very well be one of the ones left without and give up because of the binders you wear. It will get along fine! In the end there will be the ones that survive and thrive and then there will be the others! NOTHING you say? How can this be? Almost 1000 acres at my disposal split between 2 of the better hunting parts of the state and a thriving business that is bursting at the seams. Trust me. In the end it will not be me with nothing because i dont sit on my hands and complain or listen to what others say that i should or should not or can and can not do! Sorry, Not in the dna!
  17. Thats a nice speech and very true from our days gone by but thats just it..gone bye-bye. Such as the 55 cents pack of newports and 99 cent six pack of genny lite beer from our days past. None of that is coming back. A person can still try and live that way themselves and live in the past but will be past by quickly. Everything in this world is changing and for the ones that dont see or believe where hunting is going has blinders on. In say 5 years when alot of this generation stops hunting and with no new hunters coming in it will be turned into a pay to play game!! You have a choice on what end you want to be on.
  18. I see you say..Hunting Client...I would have to imagine that if a person is paying you to take them hunting they are not looking for a baby spike or crotch horn or yearling doe? You would think they could find that for free in about any woodlot!
  19. Its all about where a person wants to be. You see i want to be at the top of the game and if that game involves money then so be it. If you think your so called old style of hunting is going to last the test of time, guess again. A person can sit back and whine about how it used to be or you can blaze your own trail. I didnt get what i have today by being told how/what and when i should do something. People want my land up here because they want big deer. People want my land that borders Letchworth because they want big deer. Thats just where huntings at n todays world As far as harvests on my property. Why would i listen to the same ones that fail when managing their property? Most large landowners in my area do what needs to be done to insure they have great property and great hunting regardless of what the state thinks! The taxes are paid and the choices are made!
  20. Steve you need to get out more. I have offers and many offers of good cash for the rites to my 700 acres and no thats not fenced acres! My 7 acre farm has nothing to do with this thread! People want bone. If you think this hunting world is not changing big time you are fooling yourself. How about food plot seeds and the such? All about big deer!!! Thats where we are at in hunting and it will continue. The people with money will be hunting the good deer and the rest will be on that state land you were talking about! just a fact!! As far as the 5 tags 10 deer? Its my land and i will manage it!!! Not worried about the ones that tell me how i should manage it!!
  21. A hunter should know if a buck is a..Shooter..the second he see,s it. If it makes your heart race and knees knock like you are going to fall out of the stand then...Take Him! If you have to..Look..over a buck...He is not big enough!
  22. Thats a joke if i ever heard one. Why is it that states that are nothing but trophy states have no problems ny state has? They have been trophy states for years. But you are right on the big hunting. It wont be long and if you find yourself on the wrong side of the line you will be without a place to hunt unless you write the check but then guess what? We wont have a deer problem because it will be us managing our lands and not the state! If i think 10 does need to be takin and the sate only gives me 5 tags what do you think is going to happen? Its a money world my friend and you either grab yourself some or sit back and watch everybody else grab it!
  23. Look at the states the are..Big Buck Hunters Dream..like WI,Oh,ill..Do you see them complain about to many deer? Do you not see them in the top 5 of both record books every year. If some would just look at what others are doing and follow suit things may get better. There are ways to get the deer shot in the areas that need it>>>By Hunters if Ny would just change things up a bit. It will never happen in this state. Look at big Ag in Ny, Look at the lost business in Ny. Ny is not only piss poor on their deer management but piss poor at every part of running a state. Why do you think laws mean nothing to people in Ny? They/We/Me are going to do whatever it takes to get ourselves and families to the next point. Ny sure is not going to help you get there!
  24. To many deer and not enough hunters= ------ There will never be enough hunters to take out what they think should be gone. In reality is there really to many deer? Look at all the states that are now at war with their DEC-DNR departments because they have wiped out the herd past repair. There sure is not to many on my 700 acres yet they try and tell me there is! What are they going to do in say 5 years when hunter numbers drop a few more %. Now grow some trophies and make people take females before they get a crack at those trophies and then you would see some dead deer. Really, What am i thinking..Ny will never do something that smart!!
