  1. You do realize what you just said could be said for yourself and others that find it hard to hunt land with other hunters on it. Work harder , Hunt smarter. And yes many of us do hunt with plenty of hunters on state land driving 3 hours one way and take only mature bucks off those lands. It kinda works both ways but at the end of the day losing hunter numbers now will only give you no bow hunting in 20 years let alone any other hunting. Bow will be the first to go because it is the hardest and they will want deer killed...not just hunted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So your not happy sharing the woods during bow with the Xbow hunters and you would be pissed if they continue to get the best time to hunt? Sounds like you may want to get 1000acres like some of us and just hunt any way you want during whatever season. And the point of the hunters numbers is that post shows how many in the state that have been lost over the last couple years and even after the big drop last year they were bitching that the numbers were down already and we were only half way thru the season? Cash is Cash regardless where it comes from in their eyes. They will do something to counter the dropping hunter numbers and the cash they took with them. That's not to even talk about the numbers of deer now not getting taken. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yeah right. The last time they went up people screamed. They would do it to put more hunters on the books and to make more off the only gun hunters we have now. Most any hunter that has bow and Xbow now would pay and even new hunters would come. Time will tell I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. That also was not the full question. Some wanted to make it one sided but it also says possible Xbow its own season with its own tags. Tell me guys would not throw up cash for another either sex tag for Xbow only? Many would throw up the cash for an Xbow for another buck on the pole. Throw that on top of Xbow season in the best time to kill a big buck? Yeah DEC would make some xtra jingle fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Point being anyone with private land sure can do it anytime without much worry. I know a few who don't worry about it. Sure it happens all over the state. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. That's a long going secret. Shhhhh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Agreed. Hope DEC has some pull with the lower numbers of hunters and tags sold this year in different areas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. You got me alright. Me along with most every guy I hunt with are hiding all those xtra large Ny bucks by not needing some hero pics. I guess after so many some don't need pics of themselves. The real hero is fine. Glad I could help ya out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Yup... Ya Got Me Barney. Really those bucks are really just sleeping in the back of the truck. In fact they slept all the way from my house/Farm 4 hours down the thruway onto Letchworth state park until I could get to that sign and get a pic and then I boogied back home to get them back in their pens before they had time to wake up. Then again some of us that have hunted for years do not need hero pics of ourselves. We put the real heros in and that's the mature bucks we kill. Now if you really kept track of this site you already would have saw these same bucks hanging for a shot at our camp with the rest of the great bucks taken but I think we should stick with the story of them just sleeping for the 8-10 round trip. For someone that says they don't compare deer you ask me to show my kills? Kinda sounded like you had one to show yourself? Not so much anymore? Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. He got just what he requested. This years kills. Like that had anything to do with the Convo but they are pretty so why not. I'm sure he didn't think it would take such a nasty turn on him which is evident by his sad reply. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Oh boy look at us falling backwards now. Sorry to make ya look like the fool but after all....You were the one that asked for it. Just think. All that from a dumb deer farmer$ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Wrong answer. An opinion is not a smart ass reply to a post. You bite off a bit to much huh? Match Them? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Many of us that hunt state land would also have no problem with it being included or having its own tags and seasons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Point being that most won't whine about shit like you and would have no problem supporting things that may save the sport in this state. On a side note. is? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. If it comes down to it you have the choice to drop out. You will still be able to play with your guns when the time comes. Most the rest of us will pony up and spend the extra money to help keep things rollin in Ny state.....Oh and we will also enjoy the best hunting for those few xtra dollars we spend. We will be sure to post pic's for ya! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Lol. I could see them going that direction to recoup lost income from less hunters. People would pay to get a couple more tags and the Xbow would bring in more gun hunters because if it's ease of use. Add in the fact that they would get the best 2-3 weeks of the season and boom. Success. I can something coming down the pipe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yup pretty much. You can't hunt muzzle without a muzzleloader? Can't hunt bow without a bow. Will need a crossbow to hunt Crossbow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. That's why I also threw in a season of its own. Bow a couple 3 weeks starting the first and then Xbow a couple 3 until gun opens. Then both could have their time and it won't be it the same season so bow could not cry the blues and each would have time. My bet would be the Xbow would sell more tags or just as many as bow. Hence cash for DEC even with dropping Hunter numbers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Your right. Most dedicated hunters. Those numbers are dropping which has been spoken by the horse itself. Time will tell on numbers but I would bet on a whole for the season the numbers will be down again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Well not to make you look like the fool that you sound but if DEC made Xbow its own separate tag needing to be purchased it sure would raise them a bunch more money. It would also put more hunters in the woods and it would also keep the harvest numbers somewhat where they need to be. Myself I could give a rats Ass either way. On my properties I can use bow or Xbow all during archery season without anyone knowing any better. Maybe you should look at the big picture and not just one of yourself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Point being is that DEC is losing money on tag sales. The handicap and elderly already have their advantages set up for their use. Add in the fact that less tags sold because of less hunters adds up to less deer taken. We will probably see a drop in harvest numbers this year along with tag sales. They will need to do something to make more money and also get the deer killed by the less hunters we have left. That will call for Xbow tags sold separate and make it easier for hunters to kill deer. That's two things they need to have....Cash and Kill's! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. So now that DEC talks that all license sales are down this year cept Senior tags will they finally throw the Xbow in or make it another weapon with its own tags needed? They will be feeling the lack of cash pinch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Missed my selfie chance. Pretty 8 just outside the ears bumping doe's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. We have 920 in the North and 124 in Western Ny. The bigger is enough to control the deer a bit and the smaller borders 100's of acres of No Hunting so that works out well also. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. That's how it's all supposed to work. Hunters with a few more years under their belt helping the up and comers. You have progressed well and will continue to grow by the sounds. Sounds like you found out the feeling of shooting a real buck being mature and have the headgear also. There will come a time where the only feeling you want is the one that you got taking that 9. It's a feeling like no other when you set your sights on a certain kind of deer and succeed. You will still always have the enjoyment of the woods and the hunt and even the pride of taking meat does for the freezer but that feeling you had when you took that 9 will not come around every year unless you are in a special place in this state and have the luck to go along with your hard work in your side. Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
