I shoot the savage also and its by far my favorite rifle,I shoot 5744 and a 260 grain dead center bullet.Out to 200 yards there isn't a deer thats safe,this is my last buck with it.shot him in 09 on the lsat minute of late muzzle loader season

I am to clumsy on my feet to still hunt so I either sit in stand or just pick a tree and set my chair up against it.What are your favorite late season spots to sit?EIther pine stand,open hardwood ridges,picked corn/beanfield or overgrown grass field.Tell me what you guys like late in the year and why.

I am looking for a good small youth/compact bolt .223 for hunting coyote and teaching my daughter to shoot a centerfire rifle.She shoots my .22's great so please dont tell me to get her a 22.I was looking at the Browning Micro Midas and the ruger compact.If anyone has one and can tell me about them I would be appreciative.

My friend nailed a doe last night and didnt hit it very good so we went after it this am and found it 30 yards from where he last saw it.We wanted to go in last night but we could only get about 30 yards from it before it would get up and fumble away.Whats the legality with dispatching a deer at night?Can someone legally shoot the deer to put it down?
