Guys always ask me how I kill so many bucks? Follow the Doe they will bring them in for you. Even in years with little Buck sign, lack of rubs and scrapes, nothing on early cams etc... I always watch my Scrape line also (same one opens same spot for 30yrs plus) when it opens up its go time sit on as long and as much as you can. I will be happy to sit and watch Doe after Doe, keeps you on your toes. As the 1st string of Doe come in you will see bucks you never seen before. I've hunted the same area for over 30 yrs and I learned along while back buck sign is just that buck sign, people pay way to much attention for buck sign. If you want a crack at the big boys watch the Girls, its the bucks goal to get the Doe. My goal is to get the big buck that's breeding those Doe. By watching the pattern of the Doe's it puts me on the bigger bucks faster.

I have always used Lacrosse 1 have 1 pair of their ICEMAN pac boot Warmest boot ever, just not a walking boot. The Lacrosse 800 is a nice boot with cleat sole. I have the Lacrosse OD with tractor sole, never get wet in either and The 800 is a good stand boot for winter also. I have 3 pairs of the New Lacrosse Mudlites in different weights, also bought my son these for Bow hunting. Very lite and fit nice. I like the line of Lacrosse due to the ankle fit, never sprained an ankle nice solid support. All are sent proof except those Icemans. If I was you go with an 800-1000 if sitting posted in winter and walking in snow, Iceman use to be -40 or more below 0 if just ice fishing and stand hunting they will keep warm. All around winter hunting Deer upland and running hounds sitting walking running the 800 is the boot to go with.I think it this way they never let me down so why buy another brand, take a beaten and still work.

I Bowed hunt & gun hunt most of my big buck kills have been at 10-20yrds 1st, Air your hunting close out, get a couple big Comforter bags, take foil and I place in it cutup apple, young sappy white pine, dirt (if you could get Scrape dirt),leaves all from around my stand. Take it wrap it poke holes in it bingo, put that in the bag close it up. 2nd biggest mistake Wind direction and stand placement. 3rd Lacrosse Boots, rub deep in before you start your walkin 4th Shower to keep clean.

The foot looks bad but like you said very lucky. About 15ys ago I was fearless I like to be where the Big Buck were, and would get A setup no matter what height I liked 20' or better. Well right before Bow season I was getting stands set after I scouted, picked a ridge. My dad would come along and cut some small stuff that was in my way. I get about 25' because the back side would be at 15' front a good 25'. I was kicking in the lock on and down it went, fell in a sitting position one cut branch stuck in my butt cheek, put I could not feel from my waist down. My dad could not help me I 6' 220lbs so I crawl out with so help. I did get the Feeling back and I am ok today. I no longer care how high its where I place them, I wear a harness all the time now. If I had been alone which is 100% of the time without help I don't think I would of made it. Another big mistake I never tell anyone where I'll be. So Now when I heads out I leave a note where I'll be, wear a Harness, and I don't go high & mange to stick Deer. Safety 1st I wish everyone a Safe and successful season.
