Guys, please dont waste time and effort debating this with ignorant trolls. I spent an hour or more calling lawmakers offices including the gov today and let them know i support getting crossbows included into bow season. every office i called said there is a huge amount of calls in favor of passing this in NY.. i spoke to the senate majority leaders office and they said that vast majority of calls and letters from New Yorks sportsman are in favor of getting crossbows included in bow season.....

Sending emails tonight and will make calls starting in the a.m.

Tin , are you serious!!!!!!! Holy Cow!

He posts this on youtube, facebook and every other place he can, then he sends copies to news stations who might well air these videos. Then the folks out there that dont hunt and really dont care about hunting one way or the other see this stuff and guess what, you got more anti hunters, it works well for them.Look at some of his other videos of kids killing wounded pigeons and teens slamming them into garbage cans. this stuff can only hurt us as a group and should be done where no body but club members can see it. check out this video and tell me this wont hurt us in the eyes of the general public??

lawmakers votes can be swayed right up to the last minute, thats why you have to show support in the form of calls and emails etc..

well Pops my skill has provided nicely for me and my family for well over 20 years now. you see you just cant understand that someone with a viable trade will always have a job and yea even if he is replaced by a bosses son in law he can go and get another job, and if he so chooses he can get another job even in another state. Unlike teachers who once laid off find themselves rather useless in the real world.A real job is a skill an individual can carry with him anywhere and when his skill is put to work it creates profit for the worker himself or the company that employs him? I come from a long line of skilled blue collar tradesman who have always worked and done very well in life. Many in our fields eventually own their own FOR PROFIT businesses. So just see how well that union protects you when you are no longer needed or in reality are no longer able to be payed for by the public. Unions will self destruct and the people will shake them off like a bad case of the fleas eventually.. -

dude, there is such a thing as having a skill and getting paid for it and having bosses that wouldnt dare to fire you because of your skills and abilities. None union diesel mechanics and many other none union blue collar trades write their own ticket in todays real work environment...if your good you wont have to worry about being replaced by your bosses son in law...and yes you can do all this without sucking the blood out of the taxpayer. you have been a union member so long you actually believe your own BS and have a totally distorted view of just about everything...sorry but that is what your showing us with your reasoning here. -
Hey hunters, lets get to joining up with these guys and help them out. They are putting alot of hard work and sacrifice into this and you can help by joining up and sending them a check for a membership in the amount of 20 bucks..This is a small grass roots effort of a couple of guys who wanna see NY'ers enjoy the same right to hunt with crossbows during bow season like most other states already allow. The time to join is now as the NY legislative season ends in about a week and we have bills that if passed could provide you a NY hunter the right to hunt with a crossbow this coming bow season! These guys are spending out O pocket money to travel and organize and beat on the doors of our lawmakers. This is a very good cause!......thanks Mike http://www.nycrossbowcoalition.com/

there the one i have to pay the most for in the way of TAXES. we have 425 teachers in our district, that is one small upstate NY town in ulster county.....we only have 14 full time cops and about 28 town highway employees. time to sharpen the ole math me friend.... -

this might be true if you replaced the public union part of your first sentance with private unions. Back in the 60s and 70s when public unions were nothing and private unions like the teamsters were all the rage we had a thriving economy and lo taxes and lo unemployment? -
Whattaya all think about this slippery slop, seems the people have spoken and wanna keep public unions in check here. I do however agree that this could have a dark side too. But that seems to be the outcome of everything political in America anymore, no more bright sides for anyone except the rich. Just look at the choices we have for president, do nothin Obama, or Romney who will more than likely suck the little blood the middle class has left! Are we doomed?

Wow some very good points made here about not losing everything you have in a millisecond due to a tornadoe or hurricane, not to mention most places will never have the experiance of water up to the living room ceiling in their homes up here in NY. I really have to wonder about these other states that some folks here claim are heaven on earth when all i see in these states is poverty, trailer parks, no jobs or working for peanuts, poor healthcare, and everyones fat? All in all NY aint a bad place and is worth fighting for as far as keeping hunting and gun rights strong and keeping unions from taxing good people right out of the state...

I know alot of you think im a prick and i feel the same way about some of you on this site but do you guys get that same warm fuzzy feelin i get when coming to this site knowing its other New Yorkers your talking to and its people who are going thru the same things you are going thru and experiancing the things we all share as NY hunters... Its kinda funny, i realize NY has some shortfalls but i actually find myself getting defensive of NY state when you have some turd kicker redneck from the south or wherever insulting NY and where we live while they think they live in some kind of shangri-La because they can use high cap mags or something like that...

Most states are way ahead of us in NY as far as letting a hunter use the weapon he chooses. But NY is the state of bans and regulations, like magazine bans, hard to get a handgun permit laws, and let the criminals be armed and take away guns from law abiding citizens...
-
its the people who watch reality TV and really believe what they are seeing that alot of folks call morons, but the people i question are the ones who have to point out "oooohh this is all phoney, its BS", that i wonder about. its another reality show and i've learned something about reality shows..you have to be smart enough to realize what they are and enjoy them for just that, or just go and watch CSI or a sitcom or something..

once you start shooting on of those things its likely you will get hooked and wanna hang your vertical bow up and let it collect dust...
