Well after about 7 years hunting my honey hole on state land bordering private land it might be time to pack it up. New owner of private land. Was an overgrown strip of field they used as a travel corridor to get to my spot in the acorns. New owner dozes it and plants a food plot. Ever since then the deer feed in the food plot but never come down to me. I can't blame the guy because of have done the same thing. Just stinks because now all I can do is watch them. Worst part is this guy has no clue how to hunt his property. Had it 3 yrs and still tag soup. Only guy I know who has a food plot, puts his stand 20 yards off the plot facing away from the plot. Congo line of deer behind him in the evening. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

Super quiet, well accept for the chipmunks and red squirrels locked in mortal combat over the falling acorns.

So its been a while since i stopped in. Been a crazy year. Im so far behind on everything hunting. Very little shooting time, hardly any scouting and only one camera i put out about 3 weeks ago. I have a baby due any time and between 2 jobs and the upcoming addition I just have not even been able to get motivated. Swinging by my old haunts to try to light that fire. Finally bought my license today and now going to spend the next few days getting the gear together and what not. I guess the unseasonable weather has played a part too.

Got scrape lines as of yesterday. Saw 5 deer. No lull here Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Tapatalk

If I can hear your conversation 75 yards away it isn't reasonable. Neither is talking on your phone loudly. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

With the giant bucks and plethora of bucks..I assure you I'm not in the wrong spot. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Nope. Again, I'm specifically complaining about the people who think it's social hour. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

I was 40 yards off the field. All the time I get guys blabbing on their phones or tree talking it up with there buddies. I definitely understand the need to share our public lands. Some of the pheasant hunters I've never has a probkem. Others use it as social hour. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Mr/Ms. Pheasant hunters, I'm sorry if I offend some of you but you do realize there are other seasons open during pheasant season right? So loud. Always hunting in groups just bsing as you walk around talking at the top of your lungs right after first light or just before dark. Just had 4 of you together. Heard you all several hundred yards off. You stopped not 40 yards from where I'm bow hunting and decided to talk for 5 minutes. I know it's state land and you have a right to be there but be a bit more conciderate. How would you like it if I brought my dog and walked in front of you flushing birds without any intent to shoot. Sincerely, Disgruntled Bow Hunter Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Here are a couple of the blood piles. Once it started bleeding heavy I really didn't need to look to find it. It was just a pure straight line. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

The arrow hit behind front shoulder a tad high. Complete pass through. Arrow had dark blood on it and dark small drops for the first 20- 25 yards then it started bleeding heavy only out of one side bright red blood. No bubbles. After another 40-50 yards it bleeding heavy out if one side it went back to a few drops of bright red blood for another 15 yards then nothing at all. When it it immediately jumped and turned 90 degrees away from me. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Well they cut the edges of the field for pheasant left large chucks of it long about 5ft high. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Yeah called in my brother to help. After doing circles and coming to the conclusion that there was going to be no further blood trail to follow we started just walking in different directions. Going down paths that the deer might have taken. Needle meet haystack. Just way to many variables. We spend a good 3 hrs search and turning up zilch. At this point and time we would need to randomly stumble on it. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Have any of you seen a deer run for open field when wounded. This one was following a well worn trail but the suddenly veers off heading right for a field and then the blood disappears 15 yards before the field Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Ok so im hunting this piece of state land for going on 5 yrs. Every year I get an opportunity at a nice buck. Every year something happens and I don't walk away with deer. Miss dee, falling pack, bad shot followed by rain. This year I was going to break it. Nice buck comes into my lane 20 yrs. Grunt it to shot. Put what looks to be a good shot. Pass through. Wait and get down. Very little blood followed by lots of blood fir 40 yards. Bright red. Then it stops. No blood to be found. Getting a sinking feeling in my stomach. I use them. They work great. I don't notice to much of a trajectory change however I just glued a bit of 6 Guage copper wire into the back of my knocks to equal the same weight. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

Don't want to derail. For reasons I won't go into on this thread it's not that simple.Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

I have no clue who the OP is. Just a general observation. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

So what does other people poaching have to do with me again? I'm just stating what others were thinking. You had no reason to attack the OP. If you don't like his post feel free not to post in the thread. I can't stop my father from failing to tag his buck anymore than I can stop you from letting your keyboard throw up dribble all over this forum. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
