Wish there was a drone that delivered hot coffee... and maybe a breakfast sandwich. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Looks like a good bloodtrail. Unfortunately, you might have pushed it by taking up the trail too soon. You tracked it a long ways. Might want to consider looking to see if any Deer Search members are in your area and give them a call.

Interesting that today I saw 7 bucks and 7 does within ~30min, but my daughter was sitting 150-200 yards from me and never saw a thing. From activity over the past 2 days at that stand, I would have put money on it that she would have been the one to see the deer. Also, after the big buck gathered his harem of 6 does, there were 6 other lonely bucks just standing around. I tried grunting and estrus bleating, but got no interest! WTH...

Had great action this morning. Saw 7 bucks and 7 does, all between 6:45-7:15. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Glad to hear it! Moving from the climbing stick to my stand was how I fell 20' a few years ago. Wasn't pretty, but I learned my lesson and installed lifelines. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Picked up some Tinks 69 and a buck bomb (doe in estrus) to try out. Had 3 small bucks cross the Tinks scent drag and walk right past the trees that I sprayed the buck bomb! Paid NO attention to either! LOL Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Spike and 4pt running does hard. Been by 8x in the past 20 min. Within 5 yards. Saw another small buck too. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Sitting 60 yards from a cut cornfield. There's about 12 or so nice rubs within 30 yards of the stand. One on a 7" diameter tree. New one made within the last 2 days. Thinking the shooter that I saw last week, uses this spot as a staging area and checks does as they enter the cut cornfield. Hoping our paths will cross one of these days. Been seeing bucks chasing does ~100 yards out in a cut cornfield in the evenings. Nice shooter was out there a few days ago. No amount of grunting or bleating did any good. Thought I would get here early and try running a scent drag out into the cornfield to try to draw the bucks in for a shot. We'll see... Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Planned on not hunting this aftrnoon, to recharge. Used warm temps as an excuse. Checked cams this morning on my way out. Got home and had videos of bucks chasing does hard in a cut cornfield from 3:15 pm yesterday, all night, and right up until 10am this morning! Had to run to Canandaigua at lunchtime. Saw a buck chasing a doe through a cut cornfield at 12:30 pm. A few miles down the road, saw a nice buck strolling across a winter wheat field, nose to the ground at 12:50pm. Needless to say, my plan to "recharge" this afternoon went out the window! Back in the stand! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Beautiful morning , but dead. Nothing yet. Very surprised. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

I've been using the Mr. Heater Buddy Heater for ~10 years in my tower stand. Like you said, it helps keep the kids (AND myself!) in the stand longer and it makes a freezing cold day more tolerable. I even went a step further and bought one of those single propane burners that uses the same size tank. Great for warming up a can of soup, hot cocoa, coffee, a sandwich, or whatever! Sure hits the spot on those windy, rainy, snowy, bitter cold days!

That's about how I feel too!! Gotta make the most of rut though! LOL

Noisey as hell walking in this afternoon! Glad I only had to walk in a short distance from the field. Tried my best turkey yelping impersonation every 20-30 yards, to hopefully make any deer in the thicket think it was just a turkey walking in... Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

Had good activity this morning. Heard grunting, bleating, and crashing from inside the thicket, ~50 yards away. Had a 5pt come out and walk by at 10 yards. Not sure if he was the one harassing a doe or if there was a bigger buck in there that sent him packing. Saw a few does and fawns too. Same stand now. Corn 75 yards behind me, Apple orchard 150 yards to my right, thicket in front of me and to my left. Perfect wind too. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk

I've had that happen before. Good bloodtrail just abruptly comes to an end. It's like the deer stops, changes it's mind, turns around, backtracks a little ways, then shoots down another trail. When you're following a bloodtrail and it's following a certain direction or path, you assume it's just going to continue. Then, BAM, no more blood and panic mode sets in! Always backtrack, and check side trails!

I keep picking the wrong stand

I can certainly relate! Like chasing my tail! -
Found a huge rub on a 7" diameter tree yesterday, 30 yards from my stand. It was made sometime between Wednesday afternoon and early Friday morning. (You can see the platform of my stand in the upper left corner.)
