  1. Just had 3 toms walk in. Still waiting in my first deer of the afternoon. Sounds like it's slow for everyone. God my phone battery sucks. Should have given it some juice for lunch I guess! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  2. The wind is constantly shifting directions here! Very slow afternoon. Not even a squirrel to keep me entertained! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  3. You guys are making me hungry! I didn't bring food, as I didn't plan an all day sit. So nice, I hate to leave! Guess I'll run out quick, grab something to eat, then get back into the stand by 1:00. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  4. Small 8pt just wandered by, nose to the ground. The neighbor next property over is making a path all around his woods. Been in there all morning with a bulldozer and chainsaws. Thought for sure he would have booted something over. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  5. OMG. Just heard the most hair raising fight going on about 50 yards behind me. Not sure if they were coon or bigfoot. Scared the he'll out of me! Woke up 3 gobblers roosting ~75 yards to my left also! Damn.... Hearts still pounding and looking over my shoulder! LOL Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  6. Found this rub yesterday on a 7" diameter tree, just 30 yards from my stand. (You can see my stand in the upper left of the pic.) The rub was made sometime between Wed. - Fri.
  7. He's a brute!!! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  8. First decent activity that I seen so far was last night. I watched a spike and a nice 10pt harass and chase 6 does around in a cut cornfield for ~30min or so before dark. It's starting...
  9. Welcome! There's a few members in the Rochester area here. How's the season been treating you so far?
  10. Calm at daylight, but the wind is really kicking up here in 8F. No deer yet. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  11. I watched a spike and a shooter 10pt chase and harass 6 does this evening. They ran them ALL over the field! I felt bad for the does! The does just wanted to feed, but the bucks wanted to breed!! First time this year!
  12. I actually saw more activity tonight, than I have in the previous 17 hunts combined! LOL Had 6 does come out into the cornfield. A spike walked by me at about 3 yards, then went out into the cornfield and proceeded to chase and pester the hell out of the does, non-stop! Then a shooter buck stepped out at ~100 yards and started running the does all over. Tried grunting and talking dirty to him, but those does had his full attention! Was hoping that a doe would head my way and bring him along, but no such luck.
  13. Still waiting to see something.. Surely they'll move tonight. Then again, I always think that, then don't see anything... The farmer picked the corn on both sides of my property 2 days ago. Not sure how that will effect the deer movement. Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  14. Holy Hell! I'm available, have tag, and will travel if you need me! Always willing to help a brother out!
  15. As long as you have time to get it sighted in (~an hour?) , I say swap it. Sounds like you'll be much happier and more confident in your equipment!
  16. Used the rainy morning as an opportunity to get all the camo washed (again!). Pot of chicken stock brewing on the stove too. That'll hit the spot after those long cold days on stand!
  17. Thanks Belo! Be on the lookout for a PM!
  18. It's something when you never think it will happen to you, then..... BAM!! Talk about a reality check! The competition is unreal. Then to go through the process, just to be told that the position was filled internally.
  19. That's a beauty of a buck Papist! Congratulations! I bet you'll sleep a whole lot better tonight! It's a shame that the meat went to waste, but I certainly admire your dedication and how you stuck with it and found him!! Unbelievable how far that buck traveled with that shot!
  20. Not a creature was stirring.... Apparently these deer forgot to flip their calendar! Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  21. Dressed as light as possible, and carried my jacket in, but still sweating! Better take advantage of the rain day tomorrow and wash my camo again... Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
  22. He's getting there! Won't be long...
