Standard Transmissions...How many can operate one ??

I’ve had a couple standard trucks/ SUV . My favorite was my Nissan Xterra . That thing was a tank! -
Day 4 of another fun filled day in quarantine. I feel good not 100% probably 85%. Walking on the treadmill for an hour yesterday definitely helped with the hip soreness. I just want to plead with everyone to please take all precautions to prevent catching this. Even though I didn’t get the extreme sickness this sucks. Stopping life is so damn boring. Take care of yourselves!

Man that would’ve been cool but no he doesn’t.

This beaks my heart not being upstairs celebrating with him.

I toughest part of today is definitely the fact that it’s my youngest 9th birthday today. I can only FaceTime with him and he’s right upstairs.

Good morning world! Day three in the Covid quarantine, woke up feeling better than yesterday I really think this is almost passed. My lower back and hips are extremely sore. I’m used to never sitting and moving all day so this lounging around stuff has me sore. I’m going to try and tackle some small jobs or should I say create some small jobs to do today down in my hole.

2 days in and I am feeling a lot less congested in my head. I bet if the bills lost last night I would be feeling worse though!

So it’s been about 24 hours since my positive test and the chills are gone. I just feels like a nasty head cold. It was nice if the wife to finally send some food down.

I remember following @sodfather journal and decided to document mine as well. I felt like I was extremely hung over all day and haven’t had a drink in weeks so I just brushed it off as a head cold. So On my way back from the cabin I call the wife and she asked me to go get a rapid test. I did and it came back positive. Had to call my superintendent at work and tell him right away . Hopefully nobody else is infected! As I sit here at 3 am I can feel the fever starting to set in. I have the chills and a pretty dry cough. I’m quarantined to the basement. My wife put the gate up and the dogs are sitting at the top of the stairs whining. My youngest sons birthday is Tuesday and I won’t be able to see him witch is heartbreaking even though he’s right up stairs.

Well we found some tracks from the bear and the land owner where the bear ran was already out looking with his tracking dog when I arrived. We followed the dog on the scent for about a mile and called it. I’m confident the bear is just banged up and it wasn’t lethal hit with the Ford. But I was feeling ill and the wife made me go get a rona test and now I’m quarantined because I got it. I’ll keep you guys posted on how this goes. -

So I’m taking some time this morning to look for the bear I hit with my truck last night on the way to the cabin. Truck is fine the bear kind of ducked and quartered away I more ran it over than hit it. Me and the sheriff looked last night but good luck trying to find a big black animal in the middle of a field at night. -
We had a family friend who was a real mountain man in the hills of West Virginia. Slept on this porch 365 days a year. He was one with nature. One night we were visiting I was probably 14 years old and hear a ruckus in the middle of the night peek out in the kitchen and there was Coy feeding 3 Coons Reese peanut butter cups. They came every night he said. He even had skunks and possums that visited nightly he took care of. Some people have that delicate touch with wild animals. I even once seen him feed twizzlers by hand to a wild deer.

I have been thinking of doing plots and turning some of my field over to apple trees but at the same time do I really want to put time and effort into making state land guys fruits of my labor. I’m in no way bashing guys that hunt public land . I’m just lucky enough to have my own! I already spend time every season kicking them off my land!

The pressure of state land hunters. It’s amazing when you just drive 1/4 mile up the road the amount of deer you see opposed to what we see. Don’t get me wrong bow up until the second day of gun season you see lots of deer .

How many of you guys lease property while owning property? I own 94 acres that borders state land. After opening day of gun you are very hard pressed to see a deer. I’ve been thinking of looking into seeing if any lease property is available close to me. I know and talk to a couple guys who lease a 1000 acre parcel near me and these guys just see heard after heard. I think it’s time to make a move. Any sites you guys go on to search properties? I know it’s to late this year but I want to be ready if I make the move next year!

Sitting in a stand I take it off . Sitting on the ground I leave on.

I’m glad my team (team 4) picked up my slack. I’m like the guy that goes 0-27 in the playoffs!

No deer sightings in 2 days! Back out to Utica tomorrow for work probably done for the year! Weird weekend hardly any shots heard. -
Great pics! What equipment are you using?
-
Anybody ever hunt it? I’m going this afternoon. Is there a good amount of deer in this area?
-
I here what your saying. For some reason 9:45-10:15 is when my woods come alive. That’s when the bucks come thru. I can’t explain it either!
