  1. Shot a bear a few years ago up in Ohio,Ny. Roughly 50 yards with a 12 gauge found the sabot in the heart. Was on the ground walking in. It turned and ran down the trail we were coming in on. Got about 25 yards before it seen me and veered off. It wanted nothing to do with us but after feeling its claws with its 200lb weight, It would be a bad day if it did. If you have the money and time 2G's isn't bad, there delicious!
  2. That sucks your camera doesn't work that day. I hunt allot of state land and I love posted signs, I'm always nervous when I'm out there that I'm not were I'm suppose to be. I post every other tree on my own personal property and walk it with my dog at least once a week. The neighbors and a few friends are allowed to hunt it. We average at least 2 trespassers a year. Some folks just do not care. Best of luck.
  3. Shot a 6 a few years ago that I never recovered. That experience runs through my head every time I shoot. We've all been there. Just keep giving it 100%. Good luck!
  4. I once had a camera stolen and the culprit left a note. We were really hammering geese that year so I started throwing the breasted out carcass out on some family owned land in the Daks. Mostly got pics of turkey vultures. Got side tracked with other stuff went up a little later to grab the camera and it was gone and it had a note in a ziplock bag posted to a tree. In short it said that they took it as evidence I had been baiting ( baiting what, I dont know?) and signed it "THE DE.C." Still have the note, luckily it was my least favorite camera.
  5. Shot one with 12gauge at 30 yds, flipped over, blood everywhere for about 1000 yds. Alot of grizzlie wintergreen and 8 hours of searching with 3 guys, nothing. 30-30 at 30 yds, a few drops of blood and some hair, it ran a 100 ft. You just need to go out and look with friends. Best of luck!
  6. I can't wait, I work tonight then off for the next ten days!
  7. New here, not that new to hunting but still don't kill much. I like it all. I hunt around CNY.
  8. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/guide-gear-extreme-comfort-hang-on-tree-stand.aspx?a=546777 Absolutely the most comfortable stand. They've been sold under different names over the years but hands down it feels like your sitting in a lazy boy.
  9. E&M Custom Meats 315-533-6921 Westmoreland 2601 Rt 233. Younger kid, has done our pigs for a few years now. We dont get anything fancy but cuts it up however we ask, good prices. He started with deer processing in Blossvale then expanded. My father in law brought a deer there this year.
