  1. I have a call with a guy this evening to see if he would fit his program. I also asked the breeder, but he has his hands full. Appreciate the input! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. This is the last post i’d ever want to make, but I have a 6 year old Drahthaar that we are looking to Re-Home Dutch has been an incredible family member for the last 6 years and a truly special dog. Since Covid, Dutch has become protective of our family and has shown increasing aggression with other dogs on our walks. In addition, he recently had an altercation with the mail carrier where he bit them on the arm. This is the first time anything like this has ever happened. We are getting to the point where our 3 year old son will start having friends over and our very busy suburban neighborhood just isnt the right place for dutch. Dutch has become increasingly anxious as well and doesnt do well in crates or kennels. What he really needs / deserves is a farm somewhere and a home that is going to treat him like the family member he has become. This is part of the reason I am so reluctant to give him to a bird dog rescue center. He’s 95lbs, has been hunted a few times a year since he was a pup and is a great retrieval dog. He’s helped me track deer before, helped my track my archery blackbear and loves his grouse / pheasant hunts Looking for someone who would be interested in adopting Dutch, who would be able to give him a home and the lifestyle that he has been so accustom to. This breaks my heart and my wife is an absolute wreck, but I think its best for our family and for Dutch. If anyone knows of someone who is looking for an amazing companion, please reach out Thanks in advance Steve Sac Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Throw pouring rain in the mix too lol. I never have any luck in the rain, but didnt really have an option. I guess when that first few cold days come in they start to panic to put those pounds on on before hibernation. Stared at an apple tree for three days in the rain waiting for something to show up. 7. After 6 years I got my first my bear. Spent hundreds of hours in the stand waiting to cross paths with one and it finally happened. I had major eye surgery 4 weeks ago and almost went blind in my shooting eye. I was laid up for a few weeks and to come back and get him with the bow is huge for me. One Very happy hunter Steve S Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for the reply guys! I bought a Bear Grizzly and am loving it. I kind of wanted a take down recurve so that I can travel with it and get different limbs, but the Grizzly is a nice bow. Moog, What broadheads do you use?
  9. I picked up a recurve a few days ago and cant put the damn thing down. Its a ton of fun to shoot, but holy hell is it difficult. Anyone on here shoot / hunt with a Longbow or recurve? Any tips you could give to someone who's just picking up on it. I absolutely love my Mathews Halon, but wanted to try something different. Stevie Sac
  10. I dont know if this has ever been posted before, but I figured id ask. What is the absolute craziest thing you've ever found while hunting or hiking. My buddy's dad found an old cannon ball back in the early 80's. I always think about how cool it would be to stumble across an old musket under a rock overhang or some type of indian weapon / artifact. I always keep my eyes peeled. I've found countless deadheads and even a full Coyote carcass, but never anything out of the ordinary. I follow the MMA Fighter Chad Mendes on instagram and 2 years ago he found an old Mastodon tooth while Elk hunting in Utah. Interested to hear what kind of stuff people have stumbled upon while in the woods. Steve S
  11. Put in about 3 miles this morning looking for birds. Had one firing off randomly but wouldn't respond to any of the calls. Other then that, really quiet. Gets more difficult by the day at this point!
  12. Just picked up my 2017 opening day buck from Fish and Wildlife unlimited out in LI. This was my first mount with them and think it turned out awesome! Also just moved into the new house and finished my "office". Super exited with how it came out!
  13. Hey Guys, I have a bit of a weird question I have a deer mount that I've never really been in love with and had in storage for some time. I figured i could take the antlers from it and make a Euro mount with it and buy one of those table mounted skull hookers instead. I know they have those Plaster molds of deer skulls, but not really a fan of those. I was wondering if anyone had any older deer skulls that they wanted to sell. I have 2 dead heads where the front portion of the nasal bones has collapsed. I went to a taxidermy shop yesterday and asked, but they just mentioned the plaster molds. I figured i'd ask the group! Thanks Steve S
  14. We pounded a lot of woods these passed two days. Blew a lot of good opportunities as well. Learned just how smart and weary turkeys can be and often flank you and catch you with your pants around your ankles. Those 3 1/2" Winchester longboards did some work! Spurs were about 1". Worn down pretty good. Awesome few days in the woods!
