  1. This was my 3A state land buck. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. Time to head home to NC after taking a nice 8pt in 3A and a doe from 3H. Already looking forward to making the 12 hour drive back up to camp next year. Good luck to you all the rest of the season. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. All of our deer movement this week has been after 9..that's our excuse to wait until 8 to walk in. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. I shot an 8 point. Saw only one 5 pt chasing but that was last Thursday. I have seen a 4, 2 spikes and a button buck..all alone and none around a doe. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Yesterday in 3A I saw 11 does..most single sightings with the exception of 3 together...no bucks around them at all. By now if you see a doe, look closely..not this week. All the does I saw this week were alone as were all the bucks to include the one I shot. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. 12 hour annual drive up worth it. Buck and doe tag filled. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. Can't wait to see! In the meantime I am going to sit here and try to figure out how you did the underline thing (did you use your phone?) Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  8. CONGRATULATIONS. Looks nice from there! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. Between the melting snow and light rain one has to improvise. In the Army we would rubber band a sandwhich baggie or wrap a condom over the barrel. In the woods unprepared one must improvise. Glad I put the scope covers on. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. Staying in to insure all plow operations are done. Can't pull into my normal parking spot off the road because of the drifts so have to park alongside the main road. Late morning through evening doe hunt for me. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. No..I was off Brown Settlement Rd in 3A. Switching to 3H reat of week to fill doe tag. I have hunter the Cover Bridge road but too much snow on it now for a comfortable walk. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. It finally happened and it wasn't a cartoon! I have been hunting a piece of state land since opening day and today I was going to take the stand down and move to another property for the rest of the week where I have a doe tag. I lowered my gun down. I turned to my left where the terrain drops precipitously down a series of ledges. I was about to grab my ladder when Insaw him walking 80 yards away parallel my position. I pulled the gun up as quickly as I could and squeezed off a shot. I knew he was hit because I saw him about 100 yards away walking slowly but no second shot opportunity. I thought I saw him bed down. Just then I saw another hunter walking towards me and he stopped on the ledge right where I last saw the buck. He stood there for a while before continuing his walk towards me. About 75 yards away he turned and walked away. I climbed down and went to the shot location and for as far as I could see there was a blood trail. I followed constant blood until I jumped him after 400 yards of tracking. I backed out and went to our cabin. Returned with some guys from camp and started over. We tracked him another 300 yards before finding him about 200 yards from the road on the other side of the property. Easiest mountain drag ever! All down hill. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. All by myself it seems on 3A state land. Noone meandering around to get the deer moving and no apples this year to draw them. Still finding fresh scrapes and light chasing. Hoping the freakish rut behavior kicks in soon. Luck has worked before. Hoping it works again. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
