11/9 am 23 Took the daughters boyfriend out in the tower for his first ever hunt. We ended up seeing a doe with two fawns one unknown and a cruising 2.5 yo buck. Nothing in range but he enjoyed it. 11/9 pm I took my bro in to set him up over the swamp on state and I wandered around doing some exploring. He did see a couple too far out then another hunter bumped the area up.

I hear ya it’s a balance. You don’t go out and your like dang what am I missing and the season is only so long lol. Ya gotta throw in a few rest up days. I’m doing same this morn. Otherwise ya just get burnt. Like ya said it should be fun not a chore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We got it. I would guess it died when he heard it crash or soon after. It was stiff we found it about 3 hours after hit. Prob went 350-400 yards and the track was iffy. He’s happy! Bro hit a buck at 3:15. Hit it just back a bit. Mid high. Deer froze walked slowly 70 yards fell over. Got up 5 times and falling over. Bleeding from mouth, tongue hanging out. Went out of sight then he heard a crash. This was over a 15-20 minute span. Input this place has yotes. And storm later tonight. Arrow looks to have food particles from pic but I have not seen it beside pic and bro says no smell. Give me what ya think. I’m getting down to go meet him at truck. Took the doe to the butcher. Now back in a tree. Couldn’t get a deer close enough to the newbs this morn. My bro checked his cam this morn and yesterday afternoon why I was showing him a diff spot one of his shooters was 15 yards in front of his stand at 4:45 lol that’s hunting! Yup build a nice comphy shooting house. She will feel safe and cozy and can read and watch wildlife even if she doesn’t want to shoot one. I built one to start the kids out and I gotta admit late season when it’s shitty I I do enjoy being a wimp and hunting out of it lol! I’m in it right now on my daughters 3 rd hunt! 11/8 pm 27 Down in my brush blind over the swamp on state land down the road. Got in about 2, at close to 4:30 I peak around to my left and see deer about 80 out headed my way. I get the crossbow ready as they come in. A nice doe and fawn. She hits my first lane about 30 out and I had a pretty decent shot but I realized she has no clue I’m there and headed to walk right in front of me close. She hits my next lane maybe 12 yards from me perfect broadside. I hit her good, a pass through and I saw blood coming outa her on her second step running away. She ran down into swamp maybe 70 yards and I saw her pile up. I got my gear packed up and followed the trail. Lot less blood in the snow than usual for a double lung but after the gist 40 yards it got going good. Nice size doe. I like how the ground blind has been producing. 11/8 am 25 Down in the outer Hole for a 4 hour sit. It was chilly. Snowed an inch on me in 45 minutes but I was actually pretty comphy. Just packed it in due to lack of deer movement. I went home and went out back quick to pull some cards. On way out I catch movement in the gully off the lawn. A fawn browsing then out comes mama. Both wander right up past me. Moms broadside at 30 yards. I had the crossbow dead on her but let them walk. She was headed right to the tower plot that the kids hunt and I really want one of them to shoot one there. Sometimes I wonder lol I sat 4+ hours this morn and the last two weeks trying to get a doe. I get home and go out back to grab cam cards. Ease out and back just as I get over the ridge and cut over towards lawn I see a deer down in gully off side of lawn so I lean against a tree. Small fawn then a doe and they head towards me and walk by at 30 yards. I had the scope right on moma stopped broadside and let her walk. They were headed right to the plot by the tower the kids sit in and I want one of them to get her lol.
