  1. I got my canvas bags from the bank (for coins) and had my daughter sew them up. I fill with rice...so if it ever leaks...its an easy cleanup.
  2. I'm just finding that as I slowly grow older than dirt...holding a pistol out with my arm fully extended allows my old eyes to see both sights! As luck would have it, my shooting eye is the one going and for the last few years I have been shooting lefty, because it's hard to look at rifle sights wearing my glasses...as they're for reading. I can see the back sight...but not the front and sometimes the target is too blurry to focus on too. But a pistol works much better...I can aim easier with the left eye...and while practicing with a CO-2 BB pistol I find that I can hit all the targets I aim at again. Looks like I need to buy one.
  3. Must be something different where I am. I see them in open areas all the time. Regardless...I will be looking to nail a few of them this year. Since getting that first one...I'm hooked. Even talked the wife to coming with me a few times last year. This way she can watch my back. ....The good news is she hasn't even asked why I make her wear the fur coat and antler hat. Good Luck to everyone & stay safe!
  4. Let's be clear here...I think the main reason for this is to keep under powered guns from potentially being used on Deer.
  5. I like going for the Yotes too. Got one last year using #4 shot. Was sitting on a hill taking a break & one walked up to me after about 15 minutes. Guess he was following me as he did come up using same trail as I did. Mange must be a horrible affliction...because this thing looked miserable. I'm sure I did him a favor.
  6. Thanks guys...I will have to cruise up on the motorcycle and check that out. I used to go to Cranberry (Thunder Ridge area in Patterson), but that's ridiculously crowded. Then I found Ninham Mountain...and at least theres more land...but you have to keep an eye out for the mountain bikers. While I'm sure I can get a rider to fit onto my fendor, I'm not quite sure what I would do with the bicycle. ;D
  7. I have the 500 too. Nice gun. Used to just keep it for the skunks and woodchucks that made the mistake of using my yard as a mess hall, but now hunt with it here in Putnam. No scope and I don't own a dog, but it's kept me fed with plenty of Grouse, Pheasant, and squirrels. Almost had a shot at a Buck last year, but I dropped the chair I was carrying before I could bring up the gun to shoot. What can I say...I like to sit comfortably.
  8. I live in Putnam...but never heard of this location. Where is it?
