  1. Ohio, where crossbow hunters outnumber bowhunters 3:2. Careful what you challenge, silly boy.....
  2. I have no problem calling a crossbow "archery equipment." But it is not a bow. Just as we would define MZ and rifles as "firearms," but not allow a centerfire to be considered a muzzleloader .
  3. I wasn't talking about rules. I was talking about definitions. States' DEFINE a bow as long bow, recurve, or compound bow. They DEFINE a crossbow as...well, a crossbow. You are confused...it is your OPINION that a crossbow is a bow, but in state after state, it is not....BY DEFINITION. ;D
  4. Great example....and precedent. MZ and centerfire are both firearms, but we do not allow rifles in MZ season. A crossbow may be an archery tool, but it is not a bow......and does not belong in a bowseason. Thanks for proving my point!
  5. The vast majority,if not all, of states' definitions of bow and crossbow would not support your OPINION.
  6. You sure are getting a lot of mileage from one smart alek comment, Steve-O.
  7. It is not a bow, and does not belong in bowseason for the physically able. It has a detrimental impact on bowhunting because it grows the sport of crossbow hunting at the expense of bowhunting. And it diminishes bowhunting, allowing those who are too lazy to bowhunt a pathway to bowseason....an easy way out. It is irrelevant how it impacts someone elses bowhunting experience. If my neighbor hunted during bowseason with a rifle, it would not impact my bowhunting experience. It is a ridiculous question that has absolutely no bearing on whether or not crossbows should be allowed in bowseason.
  8. Always dragging the perfectly legal and acceptable compound into the discussion to muddy the waters. Shameless diversionary tactic. Why not just discuss the admissibility (or lack thereof) of the crossbow on its own merits?
  9. Yea, sorry it came across that way. I did not take it as though you intentionally misrepresented the P&Y position on compounds, just felt it necessary to correct the misinformation, even if unintentional. Your buddy WNY came in to try to make a mountain out of a molehill, escalating the conversation. It is obvious that there are 3 procrossbow folks who are intent on discrediting the messenger, rather than discussing the message. You are not one of them, and I appreciate your polite discussion.
  10. Its fun to jerk you around when you are being demanding and obnoxious. Also fun to reinforce the fact that you are not as clever as you think you are.
  11. Keep spinning, dude. Any buck killed in Fair Chase with a compound that meets or exceeds the minimum score is eligible for the book. That's the bottom line. A buck in the book with an asterisk is still IN the book.....right? You are too funny, trying to salvage some sort of victory from a crushing defeat.
  12. Sorry to disappoint you, dude. Just a regular member.
  13. And what position in NYB is that, oh omnipotent one?
  14. He said that "the higher let off compounds that most of us use" would result in record book being ineligible for the P&Y record book. That is patently false. They are indeed eligible for the book. It doesn't matter if their is an asterisk, or if and when the rules were changed. He misrepresented the P&Y stance on compounds.....I corrected it with the truth. If you guys would present the truth in the first place...I would not need to correct you so often.
  15. So if I call you a dumb ass....you should not consider it to be an insult because I believe it to be true?
  16. Wow. You are a bad one, willing to twist truth at every turn. Please point out how what I said was inconsistent with Culvercreek's post.
  17. I was called pathetic, evasive, and elitist by post 165. Your counting is biased...You are biased.
  18. I guess you do not know as much as you think you know.....shocking. ???
  19. I would willingly give up a portion of MY deer season to make room for crossbows, but keep bow season separate. What say you now, Mr. Know-it-all? I still don't get your position. you would rather give up a portion of the bow season than see crossbows included in the season. if they were proposing a 50/50 split ...you would be ok with that? I wouldn't...I like the length of the bow season. I still don't get how the inclusion would affect your season to present itself in such opposition. Should be more like a 60-40 split, since crossbows are "a bit easier.: Obviously, there is more than selfishness or greed to my position, and it has nothing to do with me or "my season." I have already told you...its principle. Hand held bows in bow season...ONLY.
  20. Totally False. Shame on you. Bucks taken by Fair Chase with any compound would qualify for the book. NO crossbow buck would....nor should it. PLEASE....stick to the truth, or drop out of the discussion.
