Hey guys, Does anyone know what the deal is this year with the island? I'm sure most of you hate the place, but I kindof like it other than the tick infestation. I believe they closed the park so will it be like two years ago coming in from the gate or will the gate be open? Thanks.

I love this time of year as well. I used to take the week off, with three shot over a 6 year period. No camp this year due to new arrivals on 8/30/10, but will be in the NZ hunting some public land for sure...Just a little closer to home.

I know right where you are. Pass it on my way up through. One of the guys in our club lives P/T in Port Leyden. And, yes we are lucky enough to have just over 1000 acres to hunt bordered on three sides by stateland. I believe it is the Independence River State Forest. Not a ton of deer by any means but nothing beats the big woods.
