This guy came into range for me today. I had seen 3 earlier, but they were behind the brush so I wasn't able to get any shots with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Moved a stand today then sat the afternoon there. Bumped a deer on the way to get stand at its first location. Dang! Pic is at the new location. -

16th. Doe only 1-15, which includes the 15th. -
From the DEC site: Adult mentor must be licensed to hunt big game and have 3 years of big game hunting experience. Adult mentor must maintain physical control over the junior hunter at all times while hunting. This means the mentor and junior hunter must be close enough to talk without the aid of a radio and must be able to see each other. Both the junior hunter and mentor must remain on the ground while hunting; you may not use a tree stand or hunt from an elevated platform. Both the junior hunter and mentor must wear hunter orange visible from all directions: shirt, jacket or vest with at least 250 square inches of solid or patterned orange (the pattern must be at least 50% orange) OR a hat with at least 50% orange. Frequently Asked Questions about the Youth Hunt and Junior Hunter Mentoring Program Q: Can both the junior hunter and the mentor carry firearms during the youth deer hunt or while hunting deer or bear during the regular season? A: During the youth hunt, the mentor may not carry a firearm or bow to pursue deer; only the youth may have a firearm for deer hunting. During the regular or muzzleloader seasons for deer or bear, both the mentor and the youth hunter may have a firearm to hunt deer or bear.

It's a blonde girl with a poney tail. I can see legs in that close up pic. The dark lines are shadows. She is carrying a bag. -
Thank you grampy!

Mentors can't hunt, or carry a gun at all. Only the youth.

My son is 14 and will be participating for the first time. He's excited to get out there. He was just checking his tags and getting organized last night.

Had a buck trot by me tonight. Came through at about 15 yards. Stopped for a bit behind some trees then was on his way. Doe only so I just watched him. I wouldn't have really had a shot though anyway because he just came trotting out of the brush and only stopped behind those trees. He must have been late for supper or something. [emoji6] -

Made it out for an afternoon sit. -
I was confused about that too. Seems you need to make two separate purchases. Once you purchase the regular tag, then you will go back and the other tags/privileges will be available to purchase.

Thanks for the info! Just got all ours purchased. The site was down earlier, but I just tried again and had no problems.

I made an account and what I had last year was shown. So I just need to make two purchases? Buy the reg. first, then go back and buy the others? Seems weird to me.
