Good Evening All, Just thought I would ask the question to see if anyone would be interested in getting involved with some Benchrest Competition Shooting or Reloading like a Competitive Benchrest Shooter. I live in Sullivan County and I am willing to discuss and answer any questions. I am a Competitive 100/200/300 yard Group Shooter and I am willing to help as all Benchrest shooter's are for the most part. I love my double bull blind and yes you can shot a bow out of it with no problem as I have. Make sure you tie it down good as I learned the hard way I blew across the field about 200+ yards and was in a hard hack patch about 20+ yards in there as I had to collapse it in order to get it out. One 2 inch ripe in the screen and that was it. Great Blind.

Nice to see someone still shows some interest in tweaking loads around to find the sweet spot of that rifle. I have a friend of mine that has been shooting a 20 VarTarg and playing with the LT-32 powder and Berger Colum bullets and has be having great success out to 200 yards. Keep the tweaking going on and I also enjoy reading your post.

You can take a bronze brush a little large then the case neck and try to clean the neck area of the chamber and if it is carbon use a little Iosso or JB bore paste.

It may be possible to have a piece of the neck from another piece of brass or some other debris Carbon, etc. in the chamber and deforming the neck on the fired case.

I was only trying to help but if you don't need any I can understand. Enjoy your reloading and may it be done safely.

I have this scope on my Sako 7mm Remington Magnum and it has preformed flawless for many years. If I had to purchase a scope for a hunting rifle right now this wound be mine it is a good deal and a great scope. If it hangs out must longer I may need to put something together.

Head Space can change depending on how many times the brass has been fired you may have to adjust your die to adjust the head space on the work hardened brass.

A thousandths run out for a hunting rifle is very good. Put a rubber band on a pencil and roll your case on you Sinclair Concentricity tool using the rubber band against the case and roll the case you will get better readings.

If you have the incorrect headspace this will affect your groups and in the end effect the tuning of your rifle. Now lets bring up concentricity of a sizing die and or a loaded round for a setting die and then measuring run out. But that's another chapter.

We call that tuning our rifles weather it be Powder, Bullets etc.

As a benchrest shooter after we fire form a Lapua 220 Russian case and turn it into a 6ppc. What we will do is fire the case in the chamber of choose take a measurement from the base to a shoulder junction on the case (reseat primer so you do not get a false measurement). They have tools that will sit on the shoulder to take these measurements but you can use something as simple as a 1/4 drive socket that will fit over the neck and rest on the shoulder of the case. Fire that case, reseat the primer, measure then write this measurement down. Size the case with trying to bump the should back 1-3 thousands from the measurement you wrote down. Then fire the case reseat the primer and measure it again this should be the same number you wrote down the first time using the same tools. That will be your head space using the same tools for that chamber. Learn to bump the should back 1-3 thousands then you can remove the firing pin from your bolt action rifle install the sized case into the chamber and you should feel very slight resistance at the bottom end of closing the bolt. You should not have to apply mush pressure on the bolt for it to close fully.
