  1. I recently watched a hunting dvd that took place in the Dakotas and surrounding states.  There were farm fields that were state property but were farmed by the local farmers.  Would this be a benefit to the deer herd in NY and would it make state property hunting better.  Also make more use to the state property.  Lets hear your thoughts.

  2. There are always times when you shouldn't have seen or harvested a deer.  Tell your story here when you have shoot a deer and shouldn't have.  Mine was 3 years ago.  I just finished going #2 when a doe came on a fast walk towards me and presented a shot at 15 yards.  I was also on the phone prior.  My brother shot his first deer 2 minutes after I shot mine, 400 yards away.

  3. The topic of still hunting has been covered many times but I ask on a personal note.  When you still hunt, do you wear a hunting pack and so on or do you wear just hunting clothes and carry a gun.  I generally wear a hunting back pack with extra clothes, lights, fire starters and so on along with a shooting stick attached to my bag.  So the question is does being a smaller moving object make for better results, without deer seeing you.  Just asking your thoughts.  Thank you

  4. Federal government works with the department's. Like I said from the beginning state and federal have power to do what is necessary such as what Franklin Roosevelt did. Also it's not to raise deer numbers to kill, it's an overall benefit to both hunting, wealth of an animal, viewers, etc

  5. So where do you suggest we hunt when deer numbers are down in are area. I live in 6k. I get a 6k doe tag. Deer sightings are low. I go get a left over doe tag and it's for 3 hours away. Doesn't seem fesibal to me. Now to find decent state property. Also Dec has the power to create better habitat. Drive by the Montezuma swamp

  6. N.Y. is just worried about how to get more money out of you that's all....but hey when they shut areas down guaranteed the same people bashing What I say will be the same ones crying that they can't hunt and that the state should have done something before it got to that point. Just like the guys who bitched about the two week doe only. I bet none of them lifted a pen to let DEC know there thoughts.

  7. Franklin Roosevelt created jobs by planting trees to give work. Cost didn't matter. In these areas with low populations, plant trees that will help through winter. Plant corn lots. This will also create jobs. But this is the America in 2015. What happened years ago just some how isn't possible anymore I guess lol

  8. The pouring money out the door is the bull crap of spending how much on legalizing gay marriage. That's nonsense. What could that money be spent on. Or legalize marijuana I want to be in the woods and the guy next to me is fried and thinks he shot a deer but shot my kid. Yay america. Your government isn't failing you, it already did.

  9. What does are state/government spend on legalizing gay marriage? Wait better yet a bill is set in motion to legalize marijuana? What will that cost? Does anyone remember how much was spent just on the muskrat study? So what do you do about the places that can't handle deer numbers?

  10. After listening to a few media reports on areas with high and low deer populations I wonder on a few things. One town wanted to do a one day bow season in city limits. Thus killing the deer. I watched a video once where they were trapping deer for relocation. Why not instead of killing the deer in high population areas (in city limits) trap them and relocate to low population areas. Cost shouldn't be an issue because well are state spends enough money on their great ideas.
