  1. It really was......there was no hunting skill involved just pure luck.....I had the buck and die mounted because in my mind it was the first time me, my woman, and son shot a deer together lol my son was and wasn't there.....don't poke fun.....I mount deer because of meaning behind the deer

  2. This story took place in 7m opening day:

Are annual opening weekend trip had finally came. Campers were nice and warm as we sat around talking about the next morning. We were dreaming big, but I was doubting due to some of the crew had been there for a week already bow hunting, with no deer sightings. Well opening morning came, cold it was. I set up on the edge of the state land hoping deer would try to get to the posted property. Well 20 minutes into legal shooting time, I hear a fourwheeler. Well said land owner had same idea I did. I get up frustrated and mad but no reason to be, it is his land and I'm on state land. I crest the hill and bam there stands a doe. Tag in pocket I take a quick aim. Well from frustration, I missed. So the afternoon hunt rolls up. The ball and chain wants to go out with me. Mind you she is 9 months pregnant. She loves to go out but won't ever shoot a deer. We setup not far from where I had in the morning. As we are sitting I change my socks because my feet sweat a lot. Get done with that and she says its starting to get cold. No more than does she say that I see a doe. She is mature. As I'm on her I see another deer coming 50 yards behind. I ask my woman what is it. She says, looks to be a doe. So I take my shot. The mature doe I saw first goes down. I look over and the other does has horns. She says I'm sorry. I laughed but in my head was screaming. So we wait then go to the doe. As we are standing there looking at her I catch movement. Here come that buck right down that does trail again. She hands me my gun. I can tell he is decent. He gets 15 yards away hooks right and I let the .243 bark. He feel so quick I didn't see him go down. There was a small hump so I could see him laying there. We approached and there lay what I consider a nice 7m 8 pointer. So we were done on opening day. 2 days later she gave birth to our son. Nobody in my group would believe us. More stories to come if anyone cares to hear

  3. how about this, at least 3 points on one side not including brow points, with a total spread not less than 15", and you have to make sure it's at least 2.5 years old? but, if it's more than 4.5 years old you can kill it even if it doesn't meet any of the previous listed requirements? figure that should keep it nice and simple....and hunting licenses should be priced according to what area you hunt....on a sliding scale of course, if you hunt in an area with low deer densities and no doe tags, you pay a very small license fee.......an area with high deer density and numerous doe tags?..you pay a premium for that license.

Your good if you can ell exactly how old a deer is or that it is 15 wide or more when it is cruising through the woods......I can't tell on point half the time......I always love the, I had a 9 point run past me at 100......your good if you can count points when they are running

  4. I have had mature deer just stand there......there could be 3 deer, 2 run and the third just stands there.......when I spot and stalk so to say I just walk.....I don't take a couple steps stop, etc......I just walk.....I've killed a lot of deer this way

  5. While hunting, either walking to a stand, or doing the occasional walk around, I have encountered many deer. Why is it some will stand there and just look at you 20 yards away and let you shoot, where others a mile away take off. Always wondered.

  6. Who on God's Green Earth are you to question what anybody should or shouldn't shoot?

Is there something really special about shooting a 2.5, 3.5 or older buck? Just bragging rites? How many mounts do you have/want? Lets say you get to a point where you don't need any more bucks mounted and hanging in your house, then what, quit hunting bucks altogether? Just antlerless hunting right?

What about guys that can't afford to mount a big buck, maybe they'll just nail up the 140" horns to the side of the barn. Is that OK? Maybe a guy just wants to shoot a 4pt and stick the horns on the side of his barn, is there shame in that?

What's wrong with a "Buck of A Lifetime"? You know, kill what you want (legally of course) when you want and then maybe once in a while you shoot a "Big Buck". That just might be the choice of many NYS hunters.

One more thing, don't ever say about fork horns or doe "They're easy to kill". That is a slap in the face to many of the deer hunters of New York State that aren't as successful as you.

  7. Good for you. Would you like to get paid to let someone hunt your land?

No because as I said I hunt my land......and why would I want someone from let's say jersey hunting my land, shooting anything, leaving garbage, wounding deer, going on to my neighbors land so then I hear about it......they get to go home while new Yorker deal with the after math

  8. Wow just wow. You suffer from serious insecurities my friend. If the DEC is after you than in inclined to believe you're doing something wrong.

Your simple lack of reasoning has me blown away and in doubt if your claims. Saying I can't do something g because you don't like it and saying you can't do something because it's harmful to humans or the environment are not even in the same ballpark.

There are no laws against what I do for a living......they showed 3 times due to a neighbor who didn't Ike what I do for a living...he is a tree hugger......you claim what I do for a living is bad for the environment, explain how

  9. if that paint has lead in it or your carwash has chemicals prohibited from entering the waterway than no, no you can't do that. Or we could just let our cancer rates continue to rise and our streams and lakes become polluted because you have a stick up your ass. Good lord... do you dump your used motor oil in the back too?

I think I drove by your place the otherday

    can04.jpg

your lack of care for the environment saddens me. How can you be a hunter and outdoorsman and pollute at the same time?

lol that isn't my place.  My property value last year(for insurance) was valued just shy of $2,000,000.  I have ponds,  run way for my 2 airplanes, a whole separate structure that Is a private bar, plus my home and business that are on the property......then add in value of the business and machinery......im ruining the environment?  So everyone who does business with me are bad?  I have 2 DEC offcers who do business with me? Are they bad?  Is the state, county, city and town highway garages I do business for bad?

And im talking about you......I don't like the soap you use to wash your car or the paint you use on your house so you cant use them anymore
