  1. Wow awesome job!!!!! Congrats!!!!
  2. Sorry to hear about the stand Retired. The lack of respect in this world is mind boggling. Sounds like you got a nice set up in that spot. Good luck to you
  3. Went out Monday afternoon with my 2 buddies and my one buddie's nephew. I hunted a different spot that I normally do. I found one fresh rub near where I had my stand. Looks to be a nice area....lot of different elevations with a nice heavy run going by. Too bad I didn't see a damn thing but a noisy ass squirrel. My one buddy saw a button buck and 4 does and my other bud saw 4 does. The nephew saw nothing also. I won't be out again till next Monday. I'll be out of town in Pennsylvania Sat. and Sun.
  4. Was out with my son yesterday. Real breezy sitting up in the tree. My son saw a doe around 6PM come in from behind his stand. He try to position himself for a shot but he said she spooked and took off. I saw nothing. Going out this afternoon. Hopefully I'll have something to report.
  5. Great day with a great hunting partner!!!! Nice job Dave.
  6. I have only hunted on opening day and then Monday Oct.3rd. Only saw 2 does on opening day ( my son shot at and missed the second doe). Was away last weekend and had to work today but I will be out with my son tomorrow and again I'll be out on Monday. My buddies who hunt the area have seen a few does and one buck since. I'm hoping to find some fresh rubs and scrapes this weekend and try to hunt them.Seems to be real slow with deer movement. Hopefully this cold front will spark them up a bit. Good luck all!
  7. Four Seasons, when you try to post look to the right of post button and you see more reply options. Scroll down after you do that and you will see the attachment option. Browse for the pic and attach it that way.
  8. I would without a doubt stay away from the mechanicals too. I use to shoot 3 blade Thunderheads 125 gr. with my old Golden Eagle and they definitely do the job. I did have to make a minor adjustment in my sight from the field points to the broadheads but the point of impact was not off by that much. I would let her practice with the 100 gr., make the minor sight adjustment and she will be fine. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!!!
  9. Holy crap what a bruiser!!!!!! Unbelievable how wide he was........ashame it was a bumper that did him in and not your arrow!!!!!!
  10. Sounds exactly like my wife Geno LOL!!!!! She thinks I'm insane because I get excited just seeing a tree rubbed by a buck.
  11. I saw 2 nice does move past me about 100 yds away late this afternoon. They worked their way up to where my son's stand was. His first time ever out hunting and he took a shot at the second doe. Unfortunately he misjudged the distance and wound up shooting just under her. We found his arrow and verified no blood but he was so pumped up that he had an opportunity even though he missed. He cant wait for tomorrow now. All in all it was a great experience just to see him smiling ear to ear. It made my day.
  12. Good luck everyone. Looks like the forecast has changed. We may have to deal with rain showers all day long.
  13. I notice if I am signed out the next time I try to sign in off the home page it won't let me. I have to view a forum first as a guest and then I can sign in. It does it to me on home PC and my laptop.
  14. I hope so Karp!!!!!! It will be my 15 yr. old son's first time out so I'm hoping he gets to at least see something. I can't wait.....I have a feeling it will be a sleepless night LOL. Good luck out there!
  15. You live on Long Island Virgil? Yeah it would be great to hunt the area there but it"s pretty much all private land.I think the Church might own it.
  16. Congrats on the new bow Geno. Good luck with it. Can't go wrong with Mathews. I love my Z7.
  17. My buddy called me tonight around 6:30 and told me he was on his way home and was passing the Catholic church in Coram. There is a open field right next to the church where we always see deer out in the evenings. Well he told me that there was 7 does/fawns in the field and on the edge of the woodline was two 8 pointers. He pulled in the parking lot and watched them because the bucks were sparring with each other pretty good. He said that it went on for a good 10-12 minutes. He took a pic with his camera phone but it didnt come out so good because they were about 75 yards away. He shot some video with his phone which he showed me. Again not great video but you could definitely see them going at it. It actually got pretty agressive with the one buck on the right finally pushing the other guy to the ground and forcing him off into the woods. My buddy said that the "winner" began to walk around all stiff legged with his tail straight out. I know that they are starting to feel each other out but this looked more like a full blown fight. I just found it real interesting this early.
