  1. Along the lines of what Doc said we really don't know what went through his mind and it is hard to figure out. I think there may be a bit more to the story. Did a search yesterday (ok I creeped) of their names on FB, and if I saw their correct pages, it appears the son is a veteran who saw combat in the Gulf. Maybe PTSD is involved ??? Whatever the case...prayers sent....
  2. Thanks guys. Going by the lettering on my rod, that fish was roughly 29-30" . Cold fishing, but hooking one of these beauties sure takes the nip out of the air...LOL
  3. Hunting can be outstanding in the Rochester area....Monroe Co. is a perennial producer of book bucks year after year. Access to land however can be a hangup. No public land in the immediate area. If you can get access to some of the surrounding private lands you wont have any problem punching deer tags. Fishing can also be awesome. Many options. Lower Genny has seasonal trout and salmon runs and the upper river has decent fishing for warm water species. Plenty of ponds and bays along the Ontario shoreline, as well as a few smaller finger lakes less than an hour south. Caught this one today down in the lower river....
  4. After reading post upon post about botched taxidermy work and dishonest practices on here, I thought I might just post this. Anyways I found this video someone did and thought I would forward it to get a glimpse of the man and his practice...... It's hard to find one as honest and humble as this man, producing quality work with over 60 years experience !
  5. The way I read it, cut as much firewood as you want....LOL Cutting firewood has a legitimate purpose and it would also be occurring on land that the neighbor 'doesn't have rights or privileges to take wildlife'.
  6. That is an awesome buck and great accomplishment.
  7. My hats off to you and your group. Great sportmanship !
  8. That sounds like BS. to me. Usually wildlife agencies dispatch of problem bears themselves. I find it hard to believe they would give permission to a bunch of hunters to trespass on someone else's land.
