I took a,trip up to sterling got the permit since I was there don't no if I will be hunting there yet but It sure is,big place one thing I don't like is it looks really rocky in there from my experience deer avoid rocky ground if they can . But I no there bears in this place so I may go just for that anyway . You been all over there is it all like that ? I only went near the visitors center area really didn't have a chance to explore much .looks like a lot of bush wacking and pain in the ass to tag one out of that place . The lady working there said they are opening up one part for small game this year

The part i hunted last season, very close to the Rockland County line was easily accessible however hunting wise it was pretty barren. But then again most areas were like that because of the mild weather. I will be looking at other areas for this season. As for bears one of my wife's patients made the local paper for the size of the bear he shot in Sterling Forest last season.
